Realtime map of Dutch train movements

Post by Hyronymus »

My brother put this link on my Facebook and I think it's actually pretty cool:
http://kubus.mailspool.nl/spoorkaart/

It's a realtime map with train movements on the Dutch railway tracks.

What do all the codes mean?
I'm guessing
IC is Inter-City, THA is Thalys and INT is International.

SPR = Sprinter, a fast regional train
ST = Stoptrein, a slow regional train
ICE = ICE, High Speed Train to Frankfurt
FYRA = FYRA, High Speed Train to Brussels
ARR = Arriva train, a regional rail company
SYN = Syntus train, a regional rail company

Saw VTN and S too, don't know what they are.

S = Sneltrein? (Fasttrain, Fits between the Sprinter and Intercity)
VTN = Veolia Transport Nederland, a regional rail company
CXX = Connexxion, a regional rail company (Only company in the world with PROTOS trains.)

Not sure if website is realy realtime or calculated based upon the timetables.

It's realtime, if you click a train icon you see the arrival times with (o without) delays. And thanks for the additions.

I stil think its not realtime, yes, they use times of the NS website but i looked at the "Spoorwegmuseumpendel" in Utrecht, and no-way he could turn withing seconds. (Dont know how it called but the place where the trains needs to reverse and sucht to get on the track. To the Maliebaan)

Also 4 more icons found:

B = Belgium Railways
DB = German Railways (Using Talents if i am correct.)
ERB = Eurobahn (Using Flirts)
ICE = ICE (Duh)

This is pretty cool!

Even though it's not entirely realtime, it's still very well done. I bookmarked it :)

Awesome. And there are really lots of ICs, I wish we had intervals like that.

30 minutes generally. 15 minutes during rush hour. Some lines towards the end of the country once an hour.
Just in case you (or anyone else) is interested in this :P

This is the best one of these I've seen.

Open street map really is lovely.
