[OTTD] Brundd's screenshots (Netherlands game)

Post by Brundd »

A while ago I started this Netherlands scenario

The plan is to first built up the entire network and add passenger trains (with timetables) based upon the situation in real life.
At the moment only a few lines have complete timetables (mainly along the corridor Alkmaar-Amsterdam-Utrecht-Eindhoven/Nijmegen)

When that's all finished I have to include other towns and all the cargo things, so I'm nowhere near completion...

I'm using an edited version of the 2048*2048 Netherlands map made by Purno (http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?p=675060#p675060)
along with some nice departure signs (http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... +departure) and ofcourse the Dutchtrainset/Dutchstationset etc.

The map also contains some Belgium and German towns, does anyone know where I can find seperate German and Belgium trains?

Here are some screens:

Utrecht Centraal is going to be my busiest station in the future and probably another 2-3 platforms are needed

Some extra screens...

The first one contains the newly built station of Zwolle, hopefully the capacity suffices otherwise I have to expand the station.
Almost all trains are missing at the moment, I will add them as I figure out the right timetable paths.

A big challenge for the future is to transform Den Haag Central in a large and efficient station without tearing down half of the city...
Those banks are always placed on an annoying spot

Den Haag still lacks a branch to Den Haag Laan van NOI that is used by the stoptrein to amsterdam/haarlem (via leiden)

other then that not to bad job, its not an easy area to say the least

Looks really good so far :) .

As to German trains, there is the DBset, and I think that the 2cc set may have some Belgian trains in it somewhere.

Look again
Den Haag Laan van NOI is missing indeed, although the station Scheveningen (upper left corner) is almost at the right spot.

I changed the situation in Den Haag rigorously, at the moment it's in a temporary state.
Only thing left to do is to create a nice and efficient track layout.

I know about these sets but when I add them everything gets messed up, so no that's not an option :(
The only thing I got now are the German double decker carriages...

Yeah, very nice, only I miss the RandstadRail to Zoetermeer and Rotterdam...
Just kidding, very nice work at making the Dutch railways. The Hague (my home town) looks very nice indeed. Perhaps you could make the ugly building at the end of Den Haag Centraal?

I know there's no station Scheveningen in reality, but the station was just named that way and I never changed it...

Thanks for the links to sporenplan!
However, I'm not gonna make the track layout that realistic, I just base it on reality and see where I have to adjust things to make it more efficient.
And the regional trains would become way to slow if I include all the stations in reality because of the long calling times.

Actually I do have the RandstadRail to Zoetermeer/Rotterdam, it's only a bit different because the town Leidschendam isn't on the exact right spot and my railway line approaches the town in a different manner.

The situation in the picture may seem a bit weird but that just because I'm changing everything at the moment.

I expected the fancy RegioCitadis to Zoetermeer, instead of the CityPendel. But that is a tram, so that would've looked different.

A new screenshot!

It features the area around Gouda which I totally rebuilded just now.
As you can see it's a pretty busy station, although I must still add 2 trains.

Everything works very well, there is only one train that has to wait before entering the station, but it's only 1-2 minutes.

Since my last update I have steadily expanded my network.
At the moment I'm adding all the local German trains, all the long distance trains are already running (with the exception of trains to/from Belgium).
Unfortunately the map doesn't contain too many German towns which forced me to build stations in the middle of nowhere. But the Rhein/Ruhr area poses enough challenges, especially when I have to add the S-Bahn trains.

Number of trains at the moment: 704 (all timetabled)

Here some screenshots, as you can see no German trains :(
