Oil no longer accepted?
Hi
I'm new here, but I've been playing TTD for a long, long time.
I've come across a rather strange problem. Oil doesn't seem to be accepted at my refinery station anymore.
I have a network of stations as trasnfer hubs for oil rigs, and then oil is transported by maglev to a single refinery. I also have a dock attached to the refinery to accept oil from a nearby rig and an airport to transport goods away. However, I have noticed that oil trains will only unload their cargo at the refinery station if explicity instructed to. The ships won't even do that. This has led to an accumulation of oil (5M Litres+) at the refinery station. The refinery still produced good, but at less that a 5th than it did previously.
Have I overloaded this refinery/station?
Edit: I added a screenshot of the offending station.

A savegame would be useful, as of this screenshot I can merely guess what the problem is.
Re: Oil no longer accepted?
I have had a go with it recently, and the problem has disappeared with the ships as long as the unload command is there. They still don't unload of their own accord though.

Re: Oil no longer accepted?
Oil is supplied by Dintfingley Oilrig.
Station catchment area is extended by Intercontinental airport.

Re: Oil no longer accepted?
Ok. Is that the reason my oil trains won't unload of their own accord?

Re: Oil no longer accepted?
Those trains loaded oil at the drop station, and you can't unload at the same station you loaded the cargo.
Re: Oil no longer accepted?
Uh, can you give me the train numbers, because I can't find the trains you are talking about.
There are about 70-80 trains that drop oil at the station in the south tip of the world. I can't find any that load and unload at the same station.

Re: Oil no longer accepted?
first of all you should use shared orders
second, as Smatz said, your refinery station got an oilrig in its catchment (due to the airport) and at some point some train tried to load oil there and you still got the residual efect of it

Re: Oil no longer accepted?
Right, ok. I haven't come across the shared orders before. Would save me a heck of a lot of time
