Re: Australian GFX question
1. The guy is from Australia[0].
2. He wants to make OTTD look as Australian as possible.
3. Now he wants us to post links to Australian GRFs[2].
[0] I doubt that, because his English is even worse than mine.
[1] Maybe he means Austria, that he is Austrian and that he wants OTTD Austrian-looking. That would at least rectify the bad English
[2] Either that, or he wants some graphics so that he can compile the NewGRF himself.
So yes, some in-depth explanation would come in handy
In the meantime, you could try to find something at GRFCrawler: http://grfcrawler.tt-forums.net/

You didn't get it did you?
And I don't know any Australian grfs. Sorry
madis.

I can see only one sentence, which over one reading doesn't make sense. And I'm not going to try to get the meaning out of it. And most of us here are Europeans. I'm Estonian, Foobar is Dutch. But we still make many understandable sentences. And I don't want to offend you. It's just no-one will answer unless you write it so they can understand it. And Foobar's decoding isn't a good solution.Guys i am Australian sorry if i worded the sentence bad i didn't know how to say it any other way and sorry if its a hasl to post links

This is the result of more than a decade disinvesting in education by the Howard government. Thank god Labor is here!bartpp7 wrote:Guys i am Australian sorry if i worded the sentence bad i didn't know how to say it any other way and sorry if its a hasl to post links

Re: Australian GFX question
I don’t find it particularly difficult to understand the question. Even if people do, then surely the only consequence with a badly worded question, with minimal punctuation, is that the person asking may not get the answer they want. How that calls for hostile answers I don’t know. It’s not like the question forces others into anything which they have to fight back against, or put down.

I for one wasn't being hostile. And I stated that. If he took my words wrong then it's really my bad, because why am I critiscizing others, if my own English isn't wellI don’t find it particularly difficult to understand the question. So if you feel offended, sorry. But please make proper sentences, because I can't follow meaning of your sentence(s). That's all. I've grown tired of this useless arguing. the main thing is that he got the link and will calm down by tomorrow.

Re: Australian GFX question
Bartpp7, what people are trying to ask you to do is use correct English. Your words are fine but you are not using correct punctuation. It makes it hard for the non-native English speakers to understand some of it. Please just use commas and fullstops that's all

Re: Australian GFX question
Just curious, are there any statistics about how many people from which countries are there on forums? Of course only counting those who fill any country :)Born Acorn wrote:We're mostly European here. Australia even beats America for the number of members.

Re: Australian GFX question
There are some extremely outdated statistics here, can't find newer from a quick search.
As for the continuing biting at the heels; this is the tt-forum for graphics, maybe these criticism's would be more welcome somwhere like here. It is more considerate to spell/punctuate as best you can, but the consequences of not doing so should only be visible in the limiting of helpful/correct answers, rather than the spurring of bitter answers. This is getting locked if nothing good comes of it.
p.s.
Athanasios: If you really feel that that post was necessary, please at least take the care to capitalise the names to avoid being self-contradictory.
