With the "irregular stations" feature of the patch I am able to simulate this by building a platform using the bare ground station tiles available with some sets and then placing the platform with the desired structure parallel and in front of it. 8)

> m3henry: I see what you mean about the "islands". Next time try to be more specific when you are telling your ideas to other people ;)
I'll use some of the references that other people have given to create more tanks and elements, so if any fits in between 2 tracks, I'll do it that way.

> wallyweb: thanks for the link, that was interesting! Actually those look pretty much like the ones that there are already in the game. I can use them and somehow recolor them for more variety.

Here is the new version of the wood station, now it has a little bit more variety:

I know I have not been very diligent about updating the tracking table for these stations. But I think I'm all caught up now. Please take a look and let me know if I'm missing anything, or if I've got anything wrong. It would still be great to see these released!

These are very important updates: the palette was totally messed up in the previous versions.

krtaylor, thanks for the update, however, there are more up-to date files for certain parts;here you are the direct links to all of the newer sprites:

(facilities, containers and wood in this post)
oil
mines
platforms
harbor
switchyard

I have some good news: Maedhros has started coding the set! he sent me a test file with the wood parts, but it had the wrong palette, so there were a lot of blinging spots. Other than that, it looked quite fine :D

Well, I'm not totally sure if those images were actually newer, they looked quite the same to me... But they're all updated now, check again.

Glad to hear coding is started! I hope you will be combining this with the existing industrial stations, such as the steel mill? Because those are great, but it's better to have one big set I think.

Also, I like how you updated the "coal" mine to be able to service any sort of mining operation. Would it be possible for you to do the same thing with the coal unloader? Then, I think, we would have a suitable industrial station for all the standard industry types, except maybe the oddballs like rubber. (Any idea what that would look like?)

Well it's perfectly normal to get lost: most of the times the changes are invisible to the naked eye (like palete fixes) or very small details :)

I was checking the sprites and I fixed a couple of things; please update again (sorry for the constant changes)

I added some parts to the platforms, and fixed a detail in the mines (the conveyor belt had a small coal pile in the side, which wouldn't fit for other minerals)

I'm also preparing a document about how the sprites should be coded, here is what I have so far. Only the explanations for the switchyard remain.

And one more sprite! this one is new (well, it's a new version of old sprites)

Also the document for coding the set so far has been updated, this version should be more stable.

Looks great Sanchimaru :D Great to hear ts being coded. One thing I'd recommend though. Have the harbour stations and containers available after 1960. It's more realistic that way :)

Damn, maedhros pointed me to a lot of palette errors. I totally mistook the operation in the process. Now these files should be final version.

It includes too a guide on how menus should be displayed at the moment (when we have more station types for processed products, and more elements for the harbor, we can sepparate "processed products" and "harbor"

Sanchimaru, is it possible to make double stop buffers in this image ?
double stop buffers is stop buffer for both ends rail in 1 tile (so just 2 extra sprites)
what are you looking at? it's a signature!

Speaking of bufferstops... Do you have the bufferstop with the dirt overlays for this one?

Ben_K is working on the gold / diamond mines stations, he is doing an excellent work, wait until they are finished :D

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean: maybe buffer stops with dirt over the tracks? If there was talk about this, or even some sprites, or images, can you point me to them?

he might mean the old buffers or rusty/dirty ones, or he wants just a plain bufferstop on the track base tile

EDIT: while you're at it, could you make just a plain station tile (just grass) that actually responds to the climate and has a little hut or similar somewhere on it.

Oh, a whistle-stop station? Yeah, that would be nice, it would go well for the very low traffic stations. At one time, there were many of those.
