April, 1972.
Dear shareholder(s),
In 1971 British Rail was reincorporated as the PM&RC (Plarwood Moskau & Raichase City) under the management of your new chairman, Mr. Wolf.
The company's goal for the next decade will be to alleviate the wonderful backlog of passengers and freight cluttering our beautiful stations across the network and maintain a low level of standing freight.
In 1971, nearly three million dollars were spent on the reconstruction of several parts of the northern sector (line going north of Raichase City and Moskau) and the addition and reorganization of several trains, resulting in a net profit of -1.5M dollars for 1971.

The PM&RC has had its successes and regrettably, failures in its first year of operation. Raichase City food thingie has had all its goods cleared out and given the company an "excellent" rating.
The current management would also congratulate Mr. Beeching on his oil line, which is making a remarkable return just three years into its operation
(I think it might have to do with Feeder Service being turned on - but I'm not totally sure)
EDIT: Just as a sidenote, being an American, I found it rather awkward running my busses... and even moreso, my trains... on the lefthand side of the tracks!

January, 1975.
Dear shareholders,
In 1975, the PM&RC had its best operating year to date, generating $500K in the final quarter of the year.
We are pleased to say that 1975 will also be the railroad's final year of major upgrades and the start of an expansion program slated to last through the end of the decade. Of course, improvments to established lines will still be made whenever possible.
Since 1972 the railroad has been refitting Mr Beeching's oil trains. They are now pulling coal and turning, yes, a remarkable profit.
Lines south of Raichase City have been, after much spending and earthwork, straightened and flattened to accomodate the reorganized coal fleet. Though the line is largely a straight line (No pun intended) some sections still have grades as steep as 1 in 4.

The main line towards Flonston Power Plant was designed by our chief engineer, sir John Q. Smellforth XIII, previously a professor of theoretical mathematics at Raichase City University. It is indeed a brilliantly expensive piece of engineering.

March, 1977.
Dear shareholder(s),
Another year, another 500K lost for the company!
1975 and 1976 saw an unprecedented amount of growth for the PM&RC. The company shelled out more than 13 million dollars in new equipment over the past two years, ultimately taking out a loan of nearly three million dollars. In turn, gross railroad income has risen from 5 million in 1974 to more than 8 million in 1976 and can be expected to rise if the growth rate can be maintained.
Your chairman believes that a low amount of liquid capital is not necessarily the omen of an unhealthy company, as money is constantly being transferred into assets which will eventually make a return on the invested capital. Indeed many of our new trains are expected to pay for themselves within the next few years.
So what have we got for our 13 million dollars?
In late 1975, the new approach to the Raichase City/Moskau metropolitan area (now known as the 8th wonder of the modern world XD - my god it was a headache) was completed at a cost of over two million dollars, allowing higher flow in and out of the two stations as well as entry from both the north and south. This junction is again the work of our chief engineer Mr. Smellforth, keep it up, sir!
This new junction allowed the northern main to make a connection to one of the southern mains and subsequently into Darilshield (Forget what it used to be called) via one of Mr. Beeching's reopened junctions. Two new services into Darilshield from Moskau and Raichase City were introduced, the latter being the prestigious named train "The Flying Russian". Three trains were put into operation on each line.
Economists portend the rise of Darilshield as a major hub in the south, and so another line was built out of Darilshield through Trunfingfield and into Tarhill. Three trains were put onto this line as well.
What lies ahead in the years to come?
Raichase City Farm has recently doubled its output; if we are to be able to harness the full potential of this increased production, the lines of the Northern Sector may have to be rebuilt. Depending on the amount of capital available, we should also be looking at numerous new lines in the southern sector, centered around Darilshield.

Your chairman has included in this letter (free of charge!) a route map of our passenger services for those of you who wish to ride our trains. The map (hopefully not too hard to read) illustrates all routes and all trains running the routes. Trains are numbered ZZYYX where ZZ are the route number, YY the last two digits of the train number, and X L, E, N or M, for local, express, named or mail (there are only two pure mail trains on the map so far)
Will try to finish up the decade tommorrow, had a lot of work today.

Hi Lloyd Wolf,
I'm currently doing up your passenger network map, and I realized the following:
- there is no route number 6
- train numbers for Route 9 are missing
Plus I have some questions:
- What are the numbers behind the City names?
- could you please tell me all the names of the named trains
So far I have 0753N which is "Woodrow Kelvin" but I'm missing the others.
- what category is 0854? is it N or M?
Thanks.

Route 6 was superceeded by the extension of route 1. It used to be a single DMU between Plarwood and Fundworth.
0752N is named "Stan Aileron"; 0756M is named "Philia Phillis".
Route 9 has three local trains 0959L, 0955L and 0957L (I think they were just cut off in the scan).
0854M is a mail train.
The numbers by the cities are just the approximate populations as of 1977.

DONE!
December 1980.
Dear shareholder(s),
Due to the unprecedented size of the network, your chairman is coerced to cover the north and south halves of the network seperately.
North Sector:
In early 1977 Raichase City Farm doubled its production to 340 respective units of grain and livestock. The excess livestock was easily absorbed by the short industrial line connecting the farm to Raichase City Food Thing, but the extra grain would upset the input balance. Subsequently, grain had to be transported over the mountain to Plarwood's brewery to be of any use.
As of 1977, the lines north of Raichase city through and around Seningville were operating at their limits, carrying large numbers of goods and passenger trains out of the metropolitan area. Subsequently much money (Remember, PM&RC has been operating with a 3 million dollar loan since the middle of the decade) was spent on the rebuilding of the northern main up through Fundworth.
The capacities of grain trains out of Raichase City Farm and goods trains out of Plarwood East were doubled and extra locomotives purchased and added where necessary. Due to the relatively low capacity and relatively high weight and running cost of the grain trains their respective profit increases were marginal at best. However, the longer goods trains have been paying for themselves many times over since their introduction.
In 1979, the final segment of the northern main was rebuilt, anticipating the completion of Route 11 (More on that later). Narningville, the largest city in the north, came to possess the first Ro-Ro passenger station on the network and Sunfingwell station had platforms added to accomodate through trains of the new route. All other passenger services north of Raichase City have, however, remained largely unchanged since 1977.
South Sector:
After the modification to the northern main in 1977, a new super-long distance passenger line was planned to connect Darilshield to Lindberry, the largest city in the south. Subsequent upgrades were made to the line south of Darilshield and a connection was made to the southern main, which at the time was only supporting coal trains.
Partially using the then untouched wood system left over from the Beeching years, a connection from the southern main was made up to Lindberry. Three new HST units, very recently introduced, were put into operation on the line, 1065E and 1066E making intermediary stops in Trunfingfield and 1067N "Yuki Nagato" running nonstop.
The last new passenger line to be completed in the decade connected Lindberry to Narningville in the north through Slunningbury (Population 200 - Wewt!) and Sunfingwell turning the passenger network into a full circle. Three more HST units were placed into operation on this line, though due to the twisted nature of the newly built road maximum speed is rarely reached. 1101E and 1168E both stop in Sunfingwell and 1169M, a dedicated mail train, stops in both Sunfingwell and Slunningberry.
During the construction of Route 11, Seningville coal mine doubled its production, necessitating longer, heavier trains on the southbound main. Horsepower was compromised in order to keep operating costs low on these lengthened trains and subsequently proved insufficient on the 1:4 grade. Instead of reducing train length, the grade was reduced to 1:6.
Upon completion of Route 11, the wood system associated with Routes 10 and 11 was finall overhauled. Three 10 unit wood trains (operating with the same motive power as the underpowered coal trains) service Lindberry Woods and two sets of two trains haul lumber and goods out of Sanwell. A third set of two trains was introduced in the last month of 1980 to haul goods out of the now operating Warnway Factory.
Finally, upon the close of the decade, your chairman would like to make some closing remarks about the state of the road.
Since the first few years of the acquisition of British Rail, the PM&RC has operated with a debt of 3 million dollars and liquid capital has never exceeded 3 million dollars. Technically, this implies that the road has been operating in the red for almost a decade.
Though we regret to pass on a company still laden with debt, when considering the operating income of the company, it is not a large sum to pay off. Constant expansion has nearly doubled the amount of train and track in the network and tripled the operating income since 1971.
