In most pulled trains, N.S. makes sets of 3 carriages, which stay together.
If one of the carriages needs service, the whole set is changed out of the train then.
One of the reasons is, that there is always a good mix of first and second class along the train.

That nose looks ridiculously large, especially compared to Aus trains.

Guys, this is only a commercial-model, to introduce the HiSpeed company.
This is not intended to become our newest train.

Promoting reasons?

Chevy is right, it's not as if it will run on normal local lines anyway. :P

There will be a new train for that tough. And I quite like that model.

On the RailHobby site (a Dutch magazine about trains) they have a mock-up of the model on tracks, next to an ICE3 and TGV Thalys PBKA.

Triple kill er i mean post;
Bombardier wins 40 mln eur train refurbishment contract from Dutch railways
04.18.07, 11:02 AM ET

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Bombardier Transportation said it has won a 40 mln eur contract to refurbish trains for the Dutch national railways.

Bombardier said Nederlandse Spoorwegen Reizigers, a subsidiary of the Dutch railway company Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS), had commissioned it to refit 30 SGM II two-car units.

The Canadian company will carry out the work on the trains, which were originally built between 1974 and 1979 by the Bombardier plant in Aachen in Germany, at its plant in Randers, Denmark, between now and 2009.

So now we have refurbished SGM III, ICM and now the SGM-II. Hopefully now the "old" doublestock will get an refurbishment :P

SGM-II are these guys btw:

His already refurbished 3 part brother:

I knew that for a while, I didn't know where I read it tough. :(
Anyway, the SGM-II do have newer doors already. And they were coupled to the mSGM-III to service on the Zaanlijn not too long ago. :)

Please do not refurbish the SGM-II CityPendel: Their interior is super relaxed. The SGM-III Sprinter got hard plastic seats, the SGM-II CityPendel reasonable soft benches. Sprinters s*ck nowadays, they used to be way more relaxed. But well, seems to happen with all of the new trains, unfortunately.

I travelled on one of those refurbished train on my holiday in Holland.

Went from the Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena to the Centraal Station. Quite nice trains, dont make a lot of noise at all.
