Maybe, my first idea was to make set of blocks of flats from EE, but it certainly could include houses too. More opinions about it?

CS Town Set 0.2 - test version

Post by minime »

Tycoonez.com:munity presents

CS Town Set v0.2 - January 14 2006
===========================
Hanx's house remixed

Graphics: hanx, ground sprites and modifications by minime
Coding: minime

Image

I've cut up Hanx's graphics into pieces, and went on to play with the resulting sprites in code. Mostly an experiment... :)

Sprites used (actually, six of them haven't been used yet) :

Animation scheme:

One of many possible ways the house can get built:

Test GRF as well as sources attached.
Notes:
  • The houses appear in large quantities to simplify testing.
Test version, not intended for general use.
Requires TTDPatch alpha 67 or higher.
    Requires 2CC support (2ccolw.grf).
    TTD-Windows version only.

I just love those middle/eastern Europe style blocks! It adds so much more realism to the game. Keep up the good work! I can't wait to have the .grf in my game.

Is there already a 'Stalin' building in progress? Warsawa in Poland has one. Many people think it's ugly, but I disagree. It looks powerful and has a great atmosphere.

They certainly add realism. nice touch! Perhaps we can update them in the era from 1980 and add some color or some drawing on it... (as is often done to 'modernize' these buildings) Or in case of a really bad neighbourhood some grafitti?

But then only after 1990 after the fall of the 'mauer'. After that graffity was more common in middle/eastern Europe ;)
