If it can, that would be nice for the US set too.

See the word at vehicle structure offset 12h. (Variable 92, access with type 85/86. 86 is probably safer; the reliability of var92 for non-engines seems questionable.)
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

That's a very good idea.Michael Blunck wrote:[repainting - when?]
Then why don´t you repaint trains when they´re serviced the first time after a livery change? Would be more "realistic" than having them repainted en route.
However, doing this would make all the "old" liveries disappear in, say, six months (i.e. the average servicing interval). But in reality, old liveries persist a bit more than that before being changed (and that's why we see engines with many different liveries on real rail networks).
Could it be coded that the livery would be changed, say, after the 6th time the engine gets serviced?
No. You could, however, use a couple rand-bits to have some engines repainted on their first service on or after 1/Jan/1950, 1/Jul/1950, 1/Jan/1951, or 1/Jul/1951, for example.

Alternatively, can it be coded so that the engine gets repainted on its first service after it turns X years old (if a new livery is available at that time)?
Sure: veh.currentage [C0] - (global.currentdate [00] - veh.lastservice [92]), and see if that number of days (age-at-last-service) is above the age threshold for repainting.Snail wrote:can it be coded so that the engine gets repainted on its first service after it turns X years old (if a new livery is available at that time)?

"Why don't you" is a bit rich seeing as v0.3.0 was intended mainly just to get some drawn trains out into TTD rather than anything vaguely playable.michael blunck wrote:[repainting - when?]

Suprising as it may seem, some people prefer something playable (ie a range of trains covering the whole TTD period and a set of wagons - neither of which the "new" BR Set ever had)

We've tried to re-collect all the old sprites several times. If someone wanted to create a tracking table, I can put it up on my site. I would love to see the comprehensive BR set back to life. But, some of the projects that have gone on for years are having a hard time finishing the last hundred yards, so maybe restarting another classic project is a bad idea.

i think atleast a table would help, then just let people come and go finishing it until we can have a release.

May I ask how this differs from Pikka's UKRS?
Tracking tables mean nothing to me if they show very little. Tell me comprehensively. What can we expect?
Is anything finished? Or is it starting again? The whole saga of the BR Set seems very much complicated.

OK, last time there was an attempt at resurrecting the BRSet, I went through one of the old threads and grabbed anything that looked like a sprite.
