not that i've got anything against 3dsm, but, the devs want everything in blender.
when they finalise on the graphics format, this would make everything quick and easy to render, since its free they don't have to buy stuff.
also GMAX is discontinued, so, they can't use the free version either.

There are times when JPG is useful, TTD screenshots is not one of them. Please use PNG instead.

aslong as he can do tri-remap overlays in 3dsm, i supose it will be fine, but we've got to sort the devs out first, all they seem to be doing recently is quibling...

Change's
I've remodeeled the coal carrying bit at the back completly (forget the name), and stuck a buper on the back. Ive added mud allow the bottom, and streched the cockpit (what ever thats called) a bit too. Ive de-shined the wheels a bit as well. Slow internet, so i havnt attached the 360.

With a full quality JPeG at this size, you would not be capable of seeing any compression errors. I ran a test on a high quality jpeg - it took over 50 re-saves to have visible compression artifacts.Ben_Robbins_ wrote:Its a bmp...i named it jpeg....there we go, ive come clean.
I figured a jpeg would change the image slightly, so what would be the point of it.
The alternative is to use PNG. Its high quality and uses a lossless compression.

Hm? What version of Max do you use?
IIRC 3DSMax can export to dxf and several other formats since version 3.0!
My version (5.0) can export to 3ds, dxf, dwg, vrml, lightscape and several others.
For the beginning dxf will do its job - I don't know if it also can contain texture coordinates, but at least Blender can read it.
