Ooh, really sharp! It looks like a Japanese loco.

I think that maybe the front windshield could use some detail, but otherwise, looks nice!

I can't say I recognise any Dutch engine or anything even inspired by a Dutch engine in that drawing :?

Maley, your sprite is not bad at all! You're getting the grasp of TTD drawing. Happy to see your persistance is paying off.

But...

:?: Isn't it a German engine??? ?(

Well, as Krtaylor pointed out, the front windshield could use some more detailing. Look closely at the real thing. Yours is too tall (i.e. it starts from too low), while the true one only occupies the upper part of the engine. Also, it's supposed to be split in two.

Even the shape could use some fine-tuning. The engine itself is basically a boxy one, but corners are rounded. You might want to add some shading on the corners of your model, because like this they seem a bit too sharp.
And even the roof could use some extra shading.

But I think the model is decently done, at least it's recognizable, and it shows your good progress. Keep trying! :D

EDIT: Oh, and watch the headlights. You need red ones in the back and white ones in the front.

don't be sad just try more and you'll do it.
And don't think youre the only one here getting these hard to draw engines, i have just posted some progress on D1 wich is a very hard one for me but i won't give up i wait for comments, learn from them and then improve the sprite!

Yeah Maley, you should never give up, especially now that your work starts being appreciated. All of us can become better and knowing how to deal with constructive criticism is the only way to improve. I myself learnt a lot about drawing by listening to the critics and comments I got on the road.
Why don't you still focus on that German engine? Trying to draw something to perfection is better than just drawing new trains. You can still improve it and it can turn out to be a very good engine.

I have found time to tidy up and rename your first train maley and she looks good, if i was'nt addicted to the canadian set teaser at the minute i'd be playing with it in one of my games. I have the grf file ready for you if you want or i can keep it and when everyone is happy with your current effort add that to it as well.
I'm happy to keep on giving you a hand with your train coding but since my rapid recruitment into the french set and helping other people out with personal projects i can't promise more than one train a week to be coded.

Though this gives you plenty of time to get each train looking perfect and who knows maybe if you keep up the good work you'll get recruited into a set soon.

The loco you mean is not Dutch, but it's the German E10. It is already in Michael Blunk's DBsetXL

Mwah, I don't think MB can recognise his own graphic in that...

EDIT: Come on, maley, you're kidding right? Editing someone's work is very easy compared to making your own graphic, when you're still learning the skill. You can't be serious this is a real attempt to make it look better. You only made it worse...

I think that loco is originally German by design. Maybe such a design was exported to other countries?

If you would just look at the picture, you would see the DB sign on the side of the engine.

They do cross country borders sometimes....

Edit: It seams that this picture was taken in Venlo, which is a border station anyways, so "go figure" :!:

Maley, I told you, if you draw good sprites, somebody maybe code them. You improved your work, I really like your DMU. So...
Go for it! :D
BTW, you have to improve pantographs on that loco. Pay attention, they are not <, they are <>.
