Here's a trestle that I was fudging with a few months ago. Problem is, it would look pretty silly having a road, monorail, or maglev tracks going across it. Dunno if it's possible to make it rail-specific?

Cheers!

r0b0t_b0y2003, do you remember road tiles you've been making?
Purno helped you with texturing - he had blurred the texture.

Currently, your texture is too sharp, try using more brown colors in order to make it smooth.

yes, i've been thinking about a wooden bridge as well, this is what i've come up with. again, it shows my lack of drawing skills, but you'll get the idea.

Oz: i believe it can be done, yes, since there's different sprites for both normal and monorail bridges.

[edit] and a very nice bridge that is, didn't see it in the reply window... d'you option that for our set? :D

[edit edit] damn, wrong version. again, now. :)

Sure. I'll definately add this to the set, if you'd like. I'll have to dig through the individual sprites for it, though, and figure out how I had them configured. If I recall it was a real mutha to draw. :P

The wooden viaduct is awesome!

What is the TTD limit for how many bridges you can have?

I don't suppose any of the Patch devs feel inspired just at the moment, to rewrite the bridge code and make it more flexible?

overwriting the standard bridges'll be the first goal, and then we'll see what about others... according to mr. Blunck we can't use toyland sprites anymore, so i don't know, i should renew my information on that.
and well... if there's a possibility of extending the maximum amount of bridges i'll just have to send some money to bribe eis_os, apparently he's quite vulnerable for that.

No, you can still use them but they're a crutch. Nowadays, you have much better ways of allocating new sprites, namely the GRF Resource Management, it'll give you as many sprites as you need (within the sprite limit of the patch).

It would be awesome if the bridge limit could be removed, or increased. But I don't have any idea what the current limit is and how much work it would be to increase/remove it.

Perhaps one of the Patch Devs could explain something about this?

I wouldn't mind a Locomotion GUI built type bridge, in which you can change bridge styles halfway through. Then I could build Barmouth Bridge, which is mostly wood, but steel where the bridge burnt down.

here is a try at shadding and i hope im not bothering you with this bridge being under development and me posting updates regularly. New version of bridge with correct shading. For road i think dirt road will make it look older.
