What's happened with Industrial Stations?

Post by Oleg Kozlov »

What's happend with Industrial stations? (version either 0.86 or 0.68 - I don't remember)

Such things happen only with a part of Industrial Stations (for examle, with Coal Stations).

[Edit] I haven't seen any problems in the latest release,
But I remember the older version where filled with bugs?
Thats the monorail track for that station. (Guess it was designed to look that way)

[Edit 2] Actually, it seems that a sprite covering the ground tile is making it look wrong. Which has holes for rails not maglev or monorail :?
Thus it looks wrong.

I used to get that, and i guessed it was normal if they had only been set up with normal tracks.
Havnt tried it with maglevs/Monorails ever since though...

I don't presume to be an expert, but my guess is that the industrial stations are drawn in such a way that they only look good with normal rails. I think that all stations with non-transparent pixels over the track are meant to only look good with normal rails.

Yes, that's probably it. I think this station has two transparent lines where usually both rails are placed. But between those rails they have non transparent stuff. This non transparent stuff is now overlepping the monorail itself, while the transparent lines show the sand next to the monorail itself.

hard to explain in english.

It's me again...

Some info:
TTDw patch alpha 56
here are configuration files (see attachements).

And pictures... (To the left is MonoRail station, to the right - electrified railroad)
As you see - Electrified Railroad (and just railroad too) looks correct.

AND: Where can I download the newest version of Industrial Stations?

Oleg,
As some guys already said, this is because on some of the stations, the dirt between the track is overriten by the station. As it was only drawn for normal/electrified track, this doesn't look good with the monorail/maglev tracks.

Good question. I believe these are the lates versions:

find it here

On this page, there are two posts from "Oracle" with attachments, US-stations and jcindstatw. the second one is the one for the industrial stations. Watch out for the right version (DOS/Win).

Krtaylor: Seams that the US-topic on your homepage isn't up to date. is that intended?

Yes, basically they weren't drawn to support monorails/maglevs, and won't be either. I should put a note in the readme to that effect.
