I really like that look and we could add diferent colors to the windows like locomotion does (but make it an option instead of default behaviour, some colors in lomo are just impossible to use :? ). Like we could choose between a yellow, red, blue, green or any other colour for the window title, wouldn't that be cool?

Wow, beatiful mockup :o , something is missing:

1: The Sticky button most be more vissible

2: The buttons in the station window that pop up the vehicles that have this station in its orders most are similar.

3: The Train, bus, truck, ship or aircraft symbol alongside oft the station name isn't showed.

I think that you are working in that, but also I give the mistakes for your information. And I am waiting for when the new interface would be ready to use, the game will be similar to Locomotion but with more playable :) , I it don't matter to me that it will be similar to another game.
Sorry for my english I am argentinian

Hmm, I still think the news should still look like a newspaper.

try doing the mockups on those.

also i think the use of colours can be significantly improved. the shape and layout of the toolbar items is great, i like the newspaper....

i just think the colour pallet is "tooo big" basicly we have black as a background, white as a background, grey as a background. red as an interface border....

perhaps the border colour of the windows, is the same as the company colour... (idea)

but IMO try using Black or near black for the borders of the windows (to co-inside with the top buttons and bottom buttons) then use a black font on the thing (where 10 passengers is)

the coloured window could be reserved for the selected window, or selected buttons..... (do we even have selected windows and buttons?)

ut yeah i think everything except the colours is spot on perfect. the icons will however need to be redone, but they have been redone by someone AFAIK, so perhaps we use the ones that have been redone.

also i would love a mockup tested with a toolbox open (and the toolbox positioned vertically down on side)

keep up the awsome work.

Those icons for the red window is really all I could find at the time. They are only indicative.
-citizins celbrate???
Oops, thanks. Will be "celebrate" on the next version

Also, thanks all for the feedback :D

The red window (orginally) is a red because of the company colour - see new mockup below.

I've added a drop down list for the "map" icon at the top. I would imagine for those button that have 1 menu option, we could get rid of those menus - seems a bit pointless having a menu with only one option!

Also, added a new "Player" stat window (or whatever it's called). I still like the red outline (or whatever the company colour is) to identify these windows differently. With other windows (like a town) these could just be a black (or charcoal) outline. Thoughts?

PS The face isn't me, it's just a random image I got from gettyimage. And the icons next to the names are pencils, this is to "edit".

Thought I'd try something out with the buttons. I actually much prefer this one now :) Seems much simpler.

The "relocate HQ" is an example of a pressed button.

yeah i like the second one a lot :D only having the colour along the top seems a lot nicer.

BTW are you on a Mac? i seem to be getting some weird colour management issues. (or you are lightinging all the screenshots from the game)

from screen captures i do on my computer the difference is like this (yours on the left, mine on the right)

Image

unless of course i have weird colour managment settings (i had thought i turned all mine off)

your other mockups seem to also have this lighter/whiter look to them than i would expect from the game.

just a heads up

but yeah definatly prefer the borderless one.

somthing about the black backgrounds to the buttons, and the grey backgrounds to the boxes is bugging me.

the dropdown menu looks really fantastic, (under the map) although i would use a bit bigger font (i can't read it on 1600x1200 without looking close)

i am thinking perhaps try an 80% grey rather than the black....

but yeah definatly getting very close to perfect, i am liking it a lot :D :D

Hmm, how'd you guess. Yep, using Adobe Illustrator CS2 on Mac OX 10.4.2

Yeah, I like the windows, but now I don't like the buttons at the top. Will try a grey as you suggested, I think the transparency should only be subtle, otherwise it confuses the icons - as it's currently doing. Do you want me to mockup ALL windows? Might take me a while. And do you want me to try a SQUARE CORNER options just for the hell of it?

OK, this is the last version for the weekend. Version 2.2

With the buttons at the top and the drop down menu, I would hope that one click on the button opens the menu, as you roll over the name turn darker grey background, as you click it becomes a dark background with white text (this would be then consistant with the dialogues).

Hopefully the colours are a bit better.

is it possible to make a big/middle/small size switch for the interface. Because @ hi-resol. it will look small (as the standart interface is now).

If it could use ttf fonts then the whole thing could be scalable :-)
