nope ... I did use mine, many graphic files (in TTDPatch Graphic Status window) were turned red ..so I started enabling one by one ... then before I finished (before I turn all them green) I pressed APPLY then the game closed with crashlog ...
it shouldn't do that anyway

what are you looking at? it's a signature!
Very odd. I found the bug, and I can't imagine that no-one has had this crash before. It's been in there since alpha 35!SHADOW-XIII wrote:I had a crash
I downloaded Rai latest game and started to enabling graphic files for it .... then after enabling most of the files (some not) I pressed APPLY and TTD window vanished leaving crashlog in TTD directory ... unfortunatly I wasn't able to reproduce the bug
Well, it should be fixed now.
I've got a question. Is FIFO loading supposed to work only on trains? Because it doesn't seem to work in ships, and it would be really great if it did.

it is only supposed to work on trains (mainly because i was too lazy to find the correct fragments to patch for other vehicles), but i'll add enabling it for other vehicles to my (unfortunately rapidly growing) list of things to do this summer... (wich also contains fixing the bugs that exist with trains)krtaylor wrote:I've got a question. Is FIFO loading supposed to work only on trains? What is the antecedent of "it"? TTD or XP?
Are you using the USSet?
Does is still happen if you disable the AI?

To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

And how does it determenate how much steel to produce? Now that my exams are over, I resumed working on the newindustries switch, and now it roughly does everything I wanted it to. That's why I thought I release an experimental "alpha 53 vcs" version. This release will be interesting mainly for GRF coders, I think.
A small demonstration GRF. Just add it to your newgrf.cfg file, start a new temperate game and look at a steel mill.

In reality, one would need 1.3 tons of iron ore (depends on quality) and 350 kg of coke to get the pig iron for 1 ton of oxygen steel.George wrote:Would it be possible to make 1 ton of coal and 4 tons of iron ore become 4 tones of steel? (to use less coal then iron ore)
So a more realistical scheme would be 3 tons of coal + 10 tons of iron ore -> 8 tons of steel. Just for the record. You could easily change it yourself, BTW.

Oh well, that negative display is a surprize for me as well. I simply used the same text as TTD uses for cargo waiting at stations, and now it turns out it expects a signed word instead of an unsigned one. Why would anyone display negative amounts of cargo is beyond me, thoughGeorge wrote:Some strange things

I don't know how to fix that yet, just try living with it for a while.
TTD never distributed incoming cargo between two things, it's always the closest one that gets the full amount. This may be changed with a lot of coding, but this wasn't my intention while writing newindustreies code.George wrote:Shouldn't the cargo be distributed BETWEEN two industries, which accept it? Here all the coal goes to power station. Can it be changed?

Could you please post your savegame and configuration? Are you using the DOS or the Windows version?
Loading savegames works fine for me, so I have no clue about that.
About the stell mill vs. coal issue: Are you sure there's nothing that accepts coal in the vicinity of your station, except the steel mill? If there's a power station closer to the station sign, it will get the coal instead of the mill.

My savegame loads, but it isn't working ??
Probably something stupidly simple that I'm forgetting here.
Maybe worth mentioning : I'm now in December 3137.

Now this is strange. That GRF isn't supposed to work correctly in existing savegames, but that station should have still accepted both coal and iron ore. You don't have moreindustriesperclimate enabled, do you? Is the newindustries switch enabled?
If you can't solve that problem, I'm interested in that savegame and your configuration.
