ah ok...
i wanted to make a horse or the daimler cart...
so the 1800 scenario im working on would feature some more vehicles
i am making a really detailed scenario...
from 1880 to ... well forever...
it uses the nl maglev ... but it needs a new train that is invented in 1880
and a road vehicle...
kinda a problem.

C'mon, mate, you know better than that. This isn't a "request for a vehicle to be made thread". And my answer will be 'no' in any thread.Gurluas2000 wrote:kinda a problem.

I never get to play Locomotion, because I'm too busy doing stuff for others all the time. Anyway, here goes:The Fjonis wrote:If anyone would care to have a look at it once they find it's time for a break from playing, I'd much appreciate it.
Re: Your ATTEMPT#1: You should also remove those bridgetypes from other track types that use it, such as (dirt)roads. My advise: Just ditch the wooden bridge and leave the rest in. Bear in mind that *any* savegame where the wooden bridge is used (not just loaded but *used*) will fail to load.
(When I have some time -- August 2007 looks promising -- I'll redo the concrete bridge so it will only take one bridge slot).
So long and thanks for all the fish.

I'm sorry to bother you with this (I know I'm a noob
) but the maglevs just look too good to be missed. But what exactly do you mean by "ditching" the wood bridge? I have tried removing it from trackst.dat, but that didn't work. When I also removed it from objdata folder, the game failed to load. So when you say "remove those bridgetypes from other track types that use it, such as (dirt)roads", what exactly is it that I have to do? Do I have to edit trackst.dat? The only thing I came across that seemed to maybe have something to do with it is the highlighted line in this screenshot of trackst.dat:

Again, sorry for the trouble.

Again, sorry for the trouble.
There are 5 native bridges. Plus 2 for concrete. Plus 1 for Earth Slope. Plus 1 for Maglev. Added up: 9
Maximum: 8.
Solution 1: The easiest would be to restore trackst.dat to the original game version.
Solution 2: Edit trackng.dat, trackst.dat, roadtmc.dat, roadone.dat, roadus1.dat, roadus2.dat, roadrgh.dat and remove the wooden bridge. Nobody uses the wooden bridge anyway.
Solution 3: Use attached trackst.dat, which is my own heavily modded dat. It corners faster, doesn't allow road crossings and doesn't use the earthen slope. [NOTE: I will not support this, even if it leads to trouble -- backup your own trackst.dat]

Could you post it for people who have too many bridge mods? although I can play it, but it can be handy, cause I don't use the wooden bridge at allThe Fjonis wrote:Scrat - I did what you told me and edited all the other dats to remove the wooden bridge, and IT WORKS!!!!Brilliant, mate. Here is a compressed package of the files that I use. It includes ALL the files you'll need to install to make earth slopes, concrete bridges, concrete slopes and maglevs to work at the same time. If you want the maglevs of course you'll need to install the NL pack too, but the slopes and bridges are included and work regardless of whether you have NL or not.
The earth slope is made by Steve and the concrete bridge and slope are Scrat's work.
Simply unpack into your objdata folder, and run Locomotion.
NOTE: Backup your files first, of course. I cannot be held responsible for the use / misuse of these files.
Enjoy!

That's something you should thank Chris Sawyer for. The piece of track a train is currently on will always be the 'top piece', so it will look as if the tracks have switched. This also works for the standard tracks, but it's just a lot harder to notice.chevyrider wrote:You all noticed that the maglev junctions really switch one side to the other.

awesome stuff, just testing now. awesome. only one request: can't you create the flatbed ("rongen") wagons to transport paper as well? or maybe a new freight car, since there is none at the moment.

I just liked that the N.L flatbed doesn't take paper.astath wrote:awesome stuff, just testing now. awesome. only one request: can't you create the flatbed ("rongen") wagons to transport paper as well? or maybe a new freight car, since there is none at the moment.
So at the papermill you don't have to give the order "unload paper", while transporting lumber.
Other wise your lumberwagons keep the paperload sometimes.
For the paper i use the standard Lomo flatbed.
