Re: v3 error

Getting error AIManager has to be loaded before any of Long Vehicles v3 files.
AIManager is loaded before the v3 files.
AIManager remains greyed out in the game.
All the v3 files were freshly downloaded this evening.
Probably something obvious but I can't figure it out.
Any suggestions?
There was a problem with AI manager that made it think that it is not the first when some other file is missing. In your case it is Spitzer trucks.
Now I've changed the check orders and I hope it works right now.

George, is there a particular reason there are so many LVv3 GRF files?

I haven't actually checked, but it sounds like all the LVv3 GRFs are co-dependent; why not just mash them all into one file, and remove the "Are we all here?" code?
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

Yes. If I change one part I do not have upload all of other, and you have not to download them.
DaleStan wrote:I haven't actually checked, but it sounds like all the LVv3 GRFs are co-dependent
Yes, they do, but they can run independent too. You'll only get warnings. But you can use only part of them. Only AIManager can't run without other files.
DaleStan wrote:why not just mash them all into one file, and remove the "Are we all here?" code?
Because it makes the file biger, and maintaining it harder.
BTW, what do you suppose to do with cut version then?

P.S. I have did this mistake twise. First with Long vehicles v1, second with toyland2mars convertion. In case of toyland2mars it made me to upload 1.4MB when I change only several bytes. And you have to download 700Kb if something goes wrong. Here, in case of AIManager problem for example you have to dowload only 3Kb.

Downloaded, installed and loaded Spitzer trucks (I forgot about those  )
and started game with old AIManager ... worked fine.
Downloaded, installed and loaded new AIMAnager and started game ... worked fine.
Turned off Spitzer trucks ... error now appears in GRF status window in game instead of on the start screen ... turned on Spitzer trucks in game, clicked apply, and all is well.

Cargoset was dissabled all this time and does not appear in the GRF status window so am I right to say that cargoset is not an issue and is not required at all :?:

I have Bernhard's taxi loaded but it does not appear. I assume one of the model T's overwrites it. Too bad ... I like to take the taxi to work but now I will have to walk.

Thanks George

EDIT #1 - Perhaps a note on your download page "Requires all v3 vehicles to be installed" would help keep others from having the same issues. :)

EDIT #2 - George - I put your v3 vehicles to good use with Oskar's Bus Stops. You might find the save-game at the following post very interesting.
Enjoy!

Even though you got it working now, I'll still have to check it out and see how it was possible that the AI manager was "gray" without an error message. That's a bug in TTDPatch, it should always show the reason why it has been disabled.

Sorry, RVs are not allowed with LV set. If you want your LV be available with LV set suggest me to include it into LV set, as Ikarbuses for example. But in case of the taxi the answer would be NO.

I'll think about it

I saved the pre-fix AIManager. Let me know if you need it.

Sorry, I do not store old versions. May be some forum user has them?

Got it, thanks. Maybe you want to delete it now so that someone doesn't accidentally use it :)

Will xUSSR set be split into parts as well?
Btw, will there ever be a development thread for it?

And who will translate it for you? There are no developers, who do not speak russian. When there would be at least 25% of not speaking russian developers or one really cool developer who do not speak russian, than we shall think about an english-speaking development thred. But for now there is no need for it.

George,

I've reworked my "GMC bus" substantially, and it fits in with yours much better now. Below are the 2 smaller models with specs, shorter one is obviously the 14 passenger ;)

The model numbers are not accurate, but to my knowledge, there were no "set models" C-14= City Bus, S-20=Suburban/Intercity bus

1.
Name: Mack C-14 City Bus
Cost: $4,000
Power: 40HP
Speed: 30MPH
Year: 1920
Capy: 14 passengers
Life: 10 years
Avail. 1920-1935
Running Cost: $500/yr
Weight: 2.0T

2.
Name: Mack "Bulldog" S-20 Suburban Bus
Cost: $6,000
Power: 60HP
Speed: 45MPH
Year: 1922
Life: 12 years
Avail. 1922-1937
Running Cost: $600/yr
Weight: 3.5T

Let me know if there are any changes, I'll post more soon.

Speed: 55MPH
Year: 1940
Capy: 37 passengers
Life: 20 years
Avail. 1940-1959
Running Cost: $2,500/yr
Weight: 11T
