Here is a giant screen shot of the saved game I just posted of The Industry River which is here. http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... 2#p1080652 It took 78 separate screen shots to make and were taken zoomed out once. Here is a smaller version of it so you can see it before you download the large one. The screen shot is 54.6 meg so I couldn't post it here or on photobucket so I created a free account on Rapidshare so it can be downloaded. I don't know where else to post it. I made it to show my saved game without having to load it in Locomotion... Here is the link to it - http://rapidshare.com/files/2907028830/ ... too-SS.png You can download it without creating an account on Rapidshare.

While I was testing the new Valuables mod and the new Food mod I have build this small train-yard on the Feather River scenario:

Image

The single BR01 locomotive drives around on the yard with 25 mph because the whole yard is build with the wooden bridge. I'm realy in to German, Swiss and Austrian trains these days after playing with US stuff for ages...

My old Soldier summit test game is no more, it crashes and it keeps crashing what ever i try. So decided to play it again, this time steam only with a rolling stock maximum new at 1960.
Here is the first achivement a maximum speed between stops of 17km/h and the first large station that releafs me from my money problems.

You mean the tracks that I have used ? I thought that the maglev track was a highspeed track above the ground...This is just a regular track which has grey stones under it instead of the regular brown. I liked it better...I don't even remember where I got it (probably at the German Fanpage, but I'm not sure)...

@Zimmlock, that looks very impressive mate !

Perhaps I'm gonna make a map with the new valuables mod on the summit...of course with steam only. But now of these days I mostly play around with German trains, and those have lots of impressive steamers as well...We'll see what the future might bring.

Keep up the good work !

It looked like you used the grey ballast of the maglev track (which I got from the Kombipack) with regular rails.

@Zimm- The only problem with those shots is that they're too monochromatic but you can't help that, it's just the way that locomotives and tanker cars looked :P

Yeah you don't get more colorful tankers until the 80's IIRC, gray and black up till then.
May the force be with you.
For little boys, three things reign as supreme attention-keepers: tanks, heavy construction equipment, and trains, we all know why where here.

Finally after three days of building a nice ship and train-yard all of a sudden this happens !! Now I remember all of a sudden why I never used ships !! Is it the dumb AI, is it Walter's coding (the ships from his site) or is it just me ??? Multiple docks to unload these damn chemicals but it just keep circeling around and around...

Does anybody of you kind people know what causes this ? It can't be that it is all of the mods that I'm using, because I already encountered this problem years ago, even when I wasn't even aware that there where mods available for this game...

Thnxsss !

@EDS. I would say that the ship doesn't have the room to dock.

The code of the ships is correct. There should be no problems. I have tried all the ships at one and double charging stations. Maybe you don't leave them enough space?!?

Ships are getting a circling pattern because they always want to take the straightest route possible to next location.
Give them enough waypoints to make them function the right way.
Looks like the want to react the same way as airplanes, take the shortest route possible, only one little problem, (locomotion) ships cant fly, they need water.
And when they come into a corner they start circling around and around.
The only thing that is not very successful in the wireless version : Bungee Jumping 8o
Just fold at the dotted line and cut it out with a pair of scissors. If you are under the age of 16 please ask one of your parents or an adult supervisor if she/he can help you.

@Lighthouse
It is not clear when Erik has problems. At the start or at the finish. I thought at the destination. The ships also sometimes turning circles.

This is the final destination for the ship, and I have used plenty of waypoints. However, it can be possible that the harbour is too small. Could it also be that the station is too far away from the industry ? Here's an overview of the total picture:
Screenshot16.PNG
(447.3 KiB) Downloaded 2 times
The factory bottom-right is the recieving factory of the chemicals. The ship docks in the harbour. The first 5 tracks next to the industries is station, the other four (next to the water are on-going lines...but in total it's one station, of course I used the Long Station Patch for this.

This might help in finding a solution...

Thnxsss guys !

Erik

B.t.w. The ships that you see next to the docks now are there for eye-catchy stuff. I will not let them sail, and the chemicals are now delivered by train, because I already gave up trying...

EDIT: I have tried it via another way and have build three more docks a little bit further away (their still part of the main large station that you can see on the other screen). Here's a screenshot from 5 minutes ago:
Screenshot19.PNG
(209.29 KiB) Downloaded 2 times
The same bullsh*t over again, ship keeps circeling around in the small open space next to the docks where it is supposed to deliver the cargo. There's enough room here, and I also use plenty of waypoints as you can see...So don't know what other possibilities I have. Perhaps I should dig a canal towards the factory ???

Hello EDS:

Try making the docks a separate station. It looks to me that the ship is choosing which station to stop at, obviously not the docks.

Hope it works.

Greyfox.

Well Greyfox, you see that's the problem here. The dock is way too far from the industry where the chemicals should go to. If you do so, then you must digg a canal toward the industry, and I don't know if that works. I already tried to build a new stationdock with the main-station next to the industry but that didn't worked either. Now I'm going to try to build the industry next to the docks since I have to start over again after my saved game has become corrupt due to the new City-mine files...

@ Mr Cheesecake: Welcome to the forums.

That's a nice screenshot, great looking stations. I wouldn't take to much notice of what other people say, because I've come to realise that some of these so called "new guys" are quite knowledgeable, despite what other people say. Anyhow, have fun and enjoy the forums.

Regards,
Greyfox. :)
