Photo Of The Month - June 2012 Entries

Post by Geo Ghost »

June already? Wow, we're doing well here. Thanks again to everyone who has taken part in POTM. It's great to see it back and stronger than ever.

Entries for the June 2012 Photo of the Month are now open.
Entries close on the 30th of this month.

As mentioned before, there may be a slight delay in the voting topic as I'll be in Norway. However, I'll have an internet connection up there and shall do my best to get it sorted. I've been making plans to allow for it all so all should be good. I will be uploading entries to the wiki as they become available. If you change your entry during the month, please let me know so I can alter it. Otherwise, I won't know you've changed it probably.
If I do get delayed, I'll do what ever I can to get things up and ready for you all ASAP. You won't be left in the dark, don't worry.

The theme this month is Rarities, Oldtimers, and Specialities and has been set by the previous winner, The Irish.

Rules can be found Here.
Please read and familiarise yourselves with them if you haven't before.
Previous winners can also be found on that page.

How to enter:
Easy - simply upload your image to this topic to enter or link it from a trusted site such as flickr, photobucket, DeviantArt, your personal website etc.
Uploading is preferred as it keeps things together. If you're linking from a URL, having a small 'preview' image and a link to a high-res image would be helpful.
Please avoid uploading direct to the wiki. I like to keep entries in a certain format for organisation reasons as well as keeping record of them in the entries topic and here. If you prefer to upload to the wiki, please keep it in the same naming format as other entries and inform me so I am aware of it. Name format is - month|year|POTM|user name.
For example: 0612POTM_DaveW.jpg

At the end of the month, this topic will close and a voting topic will be started with all the entries in for people to choose their top one.
All entries will be uploaded to the tt-forums wiki and stored there for voting and also for archive.
Entries close on the last day of the month, voting will be available till the 7th of each month (approximately).
The winner will need to contact me about what they want the next theme to be and then that will be posted in the entry topic for the next month. Then we repeat from there. Simple. :D

All the best!

Maybe The Irish might be able to clarify exactly what he means by the topic title?

I think, from the message I received, he's leaving it open for interpretation.
However, no harm in asking anyway :)

OK, here's mine. An antiquated postal coach, parked indefinitely on a siding, from a slightly uncommon view.

Maybe...

Seriously, probably not. They've been converting them into workshop wagons for infrastructure workers.

I think the first two entries here already got it quite right. Geo Ghost is right; I leave it up to you, but basically, the photo should show something out of the ordinary daily things one can see today.

Hyronymus, what does that have to do with transport? :? It doesn't really fit in anyway to me.
If it was a horse, maybe. Unless you can justify it?

Sorry, I was joking (but you can you make them plough or pull a cart).

Better? An old, worn out coach outside of the station of Dufftown in Scotland.

I was about to ask why it said "No Smoking" in English. Then I saw where it was taken. :D
I don't think I will be entering this month, I don't really have anything to fight the Category.
