I have now added the broken state again. The graphics could certainly be improved by a graphics wizard. Still I am quite satisfied with the results considering that I'm more of a coder type of person. Hopefully the building will help OpenGFX a step closer to being finished. :-)

Here is the last version of the fizzy drink factory. I have tried and hopefully succeed to make the new image cut at the same place as the old one so that the same patch (that was posted by planetmaker) can be used.

If it's supposed to look like a soda can, I can suggest tapering the bottom and top ever so slightly like a... well like a soda can. Other than that: good job! The noise makes it a lot better, especially since the rest of OpenGFX is quite noisy as well.

Glad to see some drawing going on again (that applies to you too, LA!)

Example of tapering:

Anyway, I noticed that the iglu is still missing from toyland, so here you go :P
I have no idea how to produce the wrapper construction stages, so someone else could do that, thanks.
Hm, I was just about to commit the iglu and checked with the list of missing sprites. It looks in my eyes very much like the original iglu, with the door at the same place, the same dome height, the same hole in the ground at the same place. I'm not sure that it passes as independent work - even if it is. Maybe it's better to forget the original image and make something less similar to the original?

I think it's OK as it is... Some other sprites in OpenGFX are also extremely similar to the originals, and they are nevertheless included in the set.
I am little, ugly, and nasty. How do you do?

hmm.. I only know that the base radius of the iglu was the same.. Everything else was not meant to be the same :D.. Although the dome height *could* be the same, if they were done the same way... Hmm.. I'll observe the differences and then reply back
EDIT: I was wrong, I didn't take the original dome radius into account.. The sizes are totally different for the two sprites.. And my iglu is much smaller, is not of the same dome height.. :S The height of the dome of original is 27px, mine is 22px :S

Anyway, I pushed them around a bit

I know I have a BBCode error in my signature but I really cba to fix it.

Umm, why are you worrying about the precise height of the igloo? It looks good, it just needs inclusion!

So....
How would all the OpenGFX artists feel about submission of the tiles and sprites to OpenGameArt.org? The graphics are GPL so this is "legally" fine, it's just a matter of if people would like to advertise the sprites for use in other non-TTD-like games...Do you think its a good idea?

I'm not one of the artists, but I'm fine with it and it might be a good idea. So: why not? :-) Looks like a nice site, thanks for the link.

It looks like you need to upload the source images to the portal, no support for external links, so IMO this can/should be done by the authors of the images. But it would be nice, if someone adds his sprites, he would also link back to opengfx: http://wiki.openttd.org/OpenGFX or http://dev.openttdcoop.org/projects/opengfx or this thread.

Btw. did you already check, might it be possible to use some images for our last missing sprites?

Sadly isometric sprites are rare... There was nothing there that looked particularly useful...

That is the current state of affairs for opengfx; a few toyland buildings and industries missing?

Have a look yourself: http://mz.openttdcoop.org/opengfx/autho ... ingsprites

Basically missing are toyland industries, two houses, most rail wagons (which were started but the artist lost interest half-way :-( ) and the African manager faces.

A boot...

*edit*
And a pair of tipis...

*edit*
And the toffee quarry (not chopped into animatable pieces I'm afraid, but should be useable)

hey :-) Nice!

But... aren't they are missing their ground tiles? (I guess I can attach one, though)

EDIT: oh... the posting grew while I wrote :-) Ha, I'm looking forward to put it into OpenGFX after I caught some sleep :-)

The base tiles can be whichever existing one fits best; there are toyland grass and concrete tiles (and the temperate grass should match too).

And a new version of the toffee quarry, I messed up the number of ground tiles on the last one...

*edit*
And the sweet factory? This will need some pixel tweaking to make sure all the company colour works.

I just made some effort to get these sprites into OpenGFX. The toffee quarry is a b**** with respect to alignment, nicely mixing absolute and relative one. But here they go:
the last two missing town houses in toyland: tipi and shoe

Sweet factory is still in requirement of coding, though.
EDIT: here's now also the sweets factory:

Now I'll need to figure out how to re-animate the script which draws the wrappings for all those buildings...

There are always nightlies of OpenGFX. The next stable will probably only be released when all sprites have a replacement.
