Hi,

I from Australia but in Philippines at the moment .. I intend to try making some Philippine items for the game.

So if get any more photos put them here and see what we can do.

'm in Ozamiz and been taking some photos of Rice Farms, Fish Farms, some Motor Tricycles, houses along the waters edge and some buildings. They probably be objects to start with till get a collection.

I'm working on roads and other objects at moment .. so could be several weeks or more before I can start on any Philippine items.

Cheers

some of the vehicle I seen here and not had my camera on me,

Trucks with people on the back. Some trucks with load of bananas or other material and people sitting on the top.

Other day seen a motor cycle with a coffin on a side car.

Hope to find a location and get what photos I can of vehicles and the strange loads they have. The truck will make it interesting as can put passengers as a cargo :D

What would the Jeepney capacity be for passengers? Also seen them loaded with goods and seen a pig still alive tired to the back hanging by its legs.

Smaller size look to be about 8 passengers, and larger size at 16 passengers. Since 2018 the Department of Transportation (DOTr) implemented new laws which included phasing out all jeepneys manufactured before 2005 by the end of 2021, and those manufactured afterward must adhere to new standards, published here: https://www.carmudi.com.ph/journal/chec ... n-jeepney/

The law will most likely put an end to local manufacturing of jeepneys by hacking together surplus vehicles from other countries that no longer meet regulatory standards, and will shift manufacturing to dedicated jeepney-style vehicles somewhere between MPVs and minibuses.

Just the pictures and some jeepney I seen in real with people on the roof and hanging of the back maybe could increase capacity. But I heard those who ride the roof travel for free.

I have did a little RV coding and drawings with Wallyweb several months ago and we both got (especially me) side tracked with other projects.

When I get chance to start with Philippine things it be more towards objects and make a few farm industries.

Fish traps designed as arrows so fish know which way to go.

You can always post the web link to the photo in question.

But, more important, if these are things you want to see in the game, you may want to consider how you can help contribute. The easiest thing you could do is learning how to create the artwork. It takes practice, patience and time but it's something that most people can teach themselves to do. The software required is very minimal and free to obtain. We have tutorials posted in the Graphics Development section.

Myordas, if you like to have a try at drawing any vehicles and trains here are some template that I use.

If you draw them and put them here, if they look good we can soon start to code them so can try in a game.

It has 5 different sprite sizes.
Train Sprites.png
Train Sprites.png (5.57 KiB) Viewed 11000 times
The top one is the normal size for most buses and trucks (Don't worry about semi trailers for now learn the normal vehicles first) and most diesel locomotives and trains passenger coaches and than they come down in size. Steam locomotives is different can send those to you later if need.

These are used for almost everything else such as buildings. 4 different views of what you draw.
template_high.png
template_high.png (4.06 KiB) Viewed 11000 times
This is a colour palate for the colours needed. OpenTTD is a old DOS game where computers could only display 8 bit 256 colours. There are some coders who know who to do 32 bit colours, but I haven't learn that yet.

Microsoft Paint is ok to do these drawings and you can down load for free a graphics program called GIMP.

It's really as simple as just declaring your NewGRF to be 32bpp instead of 8bpp. There isn't any good reason to not use 32bpp anymore. For 2CC you just need to generate an additional graphic mask which will overlay your 32bpp graphic with the 8bpp 2CC variant.

Well to be strictly accurate, you don't really declare a NewGRF as 32bpp, it's more like you declare individual sprites as 32bpp. It's just a matter of adding in certain bits when defining the graphics, so still very simple.

For NFO this means setting a new sprite type as 32bpp in your realsprite definition, for NML you use the alternative_sprites block. OpenTTD will read that information and display the sprites accordingly :) Mind that you do still need to include 8bpp sprites even with a 32bpp NewGRF in order to define the alternative sprites from, and also to use as a fallback in case the 32bpp blitter fails. You can use dummy (blank) sprites for that though if you wish :)

Sorry to nitpick, just wanted to clarify for those watching ;)

Man, so hard to make one.

I can make a Minecraft skin but this. Very hard.

Any instructions how to make the easier one? I'm beginner to this.

Start with objects such as buildings as they easiest for when I started to learn.

Go to my object forum and down load a source file you will find in last few pages. .. it has everything codes, sprites the lot.

In the GRF folder are lots of sprites of items I have done.

I learnt by using other codes graphics . practiced just redrawing what I see and later renovated them to suit what I wanted.

Use the template above with 4 yellow squares. The item you draw needs to fit in the yellow.
Hope that helps

As long as it fits in one of the yellow squares. The squares are 32 pixels by 32 pixels but what ever you draw to put in it can be smaller. Can be as tall as like but I believe maximum height is 255 pixels.

Doesn't have to be a building. Can be anything you like to try practice with.
