6 (or more) way junction

Post by Wolf01 »

has someone designed a 6 way junction with double track?
i really need it, i wanted to use the 8 way junction posted somewhere in this forum but i have not too much space to build it
i'm trying to design this type:

Code: Select all

    A    B
    \\   //
    ||   ||
    ||   ||
1===||===||===2
    ||   ||
    ||   ||
    //   \\
    C    D
i tried but something is wrong
a train can go from A to C, from A to 1, from A to 2 but no from A to D, or it can but doing a long travel and pass al the cloverleaf juncts
i'll be very happy if someone helps me

EDIT: posted screenshot of what i done
this isn't the map where i have to build the junction, the other map is a enormous city so the tracks must stay there, i can modify only the junctions

I instantly saw, that you can optimise it by adding a direct rail from C to D. This way, it skips the hill and as a bonus, it also avoids the track there, which could have other traffic as well :wink:

but will be one problem, the delays... now i tried it with 3 trains, but with 10 or more the trains have to wait a lot

second version, without bridges/tunnels, but the trains sometimes take the wrong way so i need to put "reversing junctions" on the lines

That junction maybe a little bigger, if you have long trains, you'll just get nuts. :wink:

WTF?? i think your last design is a liiiiittlle too complicated... and its too small, bernards design is better i thing, eventough trains have to stop very often...

this afternoon i've improved the previous junction an i obtained ==> "JUNCTION v.4b", this can handle up to 12 tracks, there are some delays but works all fine, i'm thinking if are necessary the presignals

But it's still small, when long trains and many of them are in that, it'll get quite messed up. :?
