Hi, I'm sorry if this is a duplicate post but I could't find an up to date post about game speed. I have started a dedicated server for me and som friends but we only have possibility to play very casual and it would be terrific if it was possible to lower the game speed. I have searched your forum and there seem to be patches for this but they are very old and there is always replies telling it only affect the speed of the days not the economics. I therefor wonder if there is any solution to this? The current version running on the server is 1.5.2.
Best regards

no, the game speed is hardcoded, and cannot be changed (unless you have a really really slow server)
you can try pausing the game frequently, but that may be awkward in multiplayer

Thank you for your quick reply. I guess we have to play no end_year and with unlimited resources then because even if the server is on an old server it's not that slow.Eddi wrote:no, the game speed is hardcoded, and cannot be changed (unless you have a really really slow server)

If you only play occasionally, maybe the solution is not to change the game speed, but to only unpause the game when someone of you actually logs onto the server and plays?
Use the min_active_clients setting to set the required number of players so that the server automatically unpauses when it is reached. The default value of 0 means 'always run irrespective of the number of clients connected, even when no-one is connected'.
