Change data location from my documents folder

Post by JP2345 »

Is it possible to change where data is saved to (not just save games, content download etc...). I am using a redirected 'my documents' folder to a server, which is over a slow link and this is just causing long load times and I believe general stability issues.

OpenTTD is installed on the c:\ drive

Does the readme answer your question?

It works for me, so it may be something local at your machine.

I navigated the site manually and got to a readme which describes the search directory order. From this I should be able to make it work when I get time.

Thanks.

I fixed it. In the end it was as simple as moving the entire folder from 'my documents' to the local folder.
