Oil just vanishing?!?!?

Hi I'm fairly new to open ttd I think it's a great game! A problem I have is that I have a train that vists three oil places and gets hardly any oil! When I click on the platform I see it has around 17k oil waiting and then that number drops is there a setting to make the platform keep all the oil instead of dumping it for no reason

There's no such setting. But a simple mean to keep it: provide better service. Cargo will not disappear, if the station rating stays above 50%. That can be achieved by more frequent service (e.g. by using more vehicles to haul away the cargo)

Is there any other way to keep rating up I got trains coming all the time and the coal being produced has slowed down could the coal mine ever run out of coal?
