I made this list of town name grfs some time ago and it occured to me that others may find it of use too, as many of these can't be found on either BaNaNaS or GRFCrawler. Let me know if there are any incorrect or missing credits, or incorrect or broken links, and I'll get it fixed ASAP, and of course I'll do my best to keep it up to date.

Your list probably includes all of these (though I didn't check): http://dev.openttdcoop.org/projects/townnames
But it might be worth noting that all those townname NewGRFs there are open-source and thus could relatively easily be extended, amended or whatever But you might want to link those NewGRFs also there, as it would make it considerably easier, if someone wants to expand on one of those. If something is missing (or typo or whatever), that might be handy.

I think I have all those listed on the DevZone - the only one I don't recognise is the Pensylvanian town names, but it looks like there's nothing there. License info is a good idea, I'll see about putting that in.

It may be a good idea to have this on the tt-wiki. That way it can easily be updated by anyone when you're around. There you can also more easily work with tables (useful if you want to list the license) and maybe a column whether the grf contains real or imaginary names.

Just a side note: Town name grf:s is quite easy to do with GRFMaker, especially since there is an example project for exactly this.

On the other hand, I suppose it is equally easy with NML, I just haven't tried that (yet).

Keep the list here. Add it to the wiki too. Keep in mind that many of these are equally TTDP/OTTD compliant. Licensing is the responsibility of the authors and should be included in the documentation. That should suffice. The list is elegant in it's simplicity and you've done a yeoman's job assembling it. Why make your efforts more complicated than necessary?
