Parameter to change rating loss due terrain modification?

Post by Demophoon »

Hey guys!

I'm playing OpenTTD for a while every here and there and it always rocks comming back to it! :) But it seems to me there are 2 things that significantly changed since the last time I played

-) one major thing that really sucks is, that everytime if I modify the terrain around a city I lose rating within the city rapidly and cannot build any station right after. So is there a parameter somewhere that can lower the rating loss? I found some "tolerance for demolition"-parameter, but that is already "high"... :(

-) the other thing is the skyrocking expenses for terrain modification, tunnel and bridge construction *shivers* although the "construction costs"-parameter is low it is still awfully expensive

both things were not the last time I played (if I recall right that is ;) )

thanks for help in advance!!

You can plant trees to increase your rating after heavy terrain modifications.

Construction costs can be because of a NewGRF that modifies the basecosts. But it are also expensive actions, especially if you build long bridges/tunnels.

In any case, default building costs did not change. If you have higher costs, it's likely due to NewGRF you use.

Wrt local authority rating: build stations first, then kill the trees (that's what annoys them, not the terraforming).
