OpenTTD 1.1.0-RC2

Post by frosch »

In case your plan was to help testing RC1 over the weekend: We are sorry.
However, you are welcome to help testing RC2 :)

The second release candidate contains a lot of bug fixes and is a big step forward to stabilising OpenTTD 1.1. Unlike previous betas and RC1 it does not offer any new features though. But more stability is also a gameplay-improvement!
You can find the download in the usual spot together with the changelog. Please report any bugs to our bugtracker. Don't be afraid to register at the bugtracker, fixing bugs often requires bi-directional communication between reporters and developers.

Finally you should note that voting round 1 of the title game competition has been closed. The best three advanced to round 2 and you can now vote for one of them to become the title game of the 1.1.x series of OpenTTD! Go straight to the voting page; you do not even have to register for voting :p

Nothing really.

If you have only istalled using installer in Windows or your package manager in Linux, and have only downloaded add ons via the in-game content downloader, then you are safe. If you have added your manual downloads to My Documents\OpenTTD\... or in Linux: ~/.openttd/.., then you are also safe.

The only case you need to do anything is manually you manually have stored any files in the the Programs directory (or in Linux in /usr/... ). (save games, settings etc. does not end up here by default)
My OpenTTD contributions (AIs, Game Scripts, patches, OpenTTD Auto Updater, and some sprites)

ok, i have to thank you for your help, had to use the search at first, shame on me *haha* but the problem is, when i download a newer version of a newgrf with the newgrf requester and have an actual version, i can't use it in an actual game, what to do? to rename it?

start a new game or continue with the old version. Simple.

Or do you swap the engine of your car, if the manufacturer releases a new model? It might not fit the nuts and bold of the chassais etc. The same holds for newgrfs being exchanged on an existing savegame.

Rather not. And newgrf developers, or mechanics, to keep the figure of speech, already have the necessary tools.

planetmaker: not to leave the original topic here, but did someone think about a new mars newgrf? or maybe a mediterrean newgrf?
