Hey guys i used to play TT many years ago, just discovered this great forum with an open clone of TT
Just been trying to play some MP games and ive noticed that its quite hard to find someone to play in the same company like coop...
Or is it unusual to play with other ppl in the same company ???
Id like to join a clan or atleast to find a coop buddy but dont know where to start so im asking you
There is an ongoing PublicServer game at the #openttdcoop IRC channel on OFTC, it runs on nightlies and with lots of GRFs, read up on it here: http://wiki.openttdcoop.org/Main_Page
Jonty is also hosting an IS2.0-beta5 server on the #jonty IRC channel on OFTC, which includes a bot so you can download the binaries with !dl.

Account registration is less important than actually playing Join our PublicServer for some fun (you'll need to get on to IRC into #openttdcoop at irc://irc.oftc.net ); usually there are in European evening hours quite some people around, currently, as everyone seems to be on holiday, there are also a bunch of people around during daytime hours.
You need to join #openttdcoop on OFTC, there are commands like !password (gives you the password), !dl (download link for binaries) and others. When (if) you join, use !help and @quickstart.

Tried to join your public server, but it's locked
Plus version dismatch, openttdcoop using some weird version.
Yes. We want to know who joins our servers. You need to join our IRC channel as explained above. It's a simple safety measure to keep out the random grievers which works - with a few exceptions - surprisingly well.
Also we require you to get at least basically familiar with how to join - our wiki has a concise set of instructions how to do that. If you join the IRC channel, I'm sure we will point you there straight away, if you tell you don't know how to get on the server. And yes, we run always a development release, but they're also readily available.
If you become a frequent player you can either use the !dl command to get a download link to the currently used version (when a new game is started, the server is often updated to the last nightly version), or you can get an Updater that asks openttdcoop.org what the current version is and makes sure to download it if necessary before OpenTTD starts. A list of updaters can be found at: http://wiki.openttd.org/OpenTTD_Updaters
My OpenTTD contributions (AIs, Game Scripts, patches, OpenTTD Auto Updater, and some sprites) Junctioneer (a traffic intersection simulator)
I'd be quite interested in joining one of these games at some point, I enjoy building complex functional networks, sometimes I turn off the AI and see how big a network I can make before it gets jammed up or I run out of money. I'm not sure if I'm good enough at networking to really join in, though...
If you are curious, you can always join and watch a bit, build some raw material stations etc. You don't need to build a major backbone hub the first thing you do.

I'll probably come and observe for a game or two, I'd like to join in, I just don't want to ruin everyone else's fun by building some terrible junctions. Is there a game running this evening? The wiki seems to say the latest game ended yesterday, but if there's anyone else (like me) sad enough to want to stay in and play games on New Years Eve, I'd like to join in
