help with signal/train routing problem

Post by PH5 »

I am stumped on how to fix this. I have the station as shown in the picture, with the trains coming into the station through the tunnel. As you can see, the train coming out of the tunnel is trying to go to the occupied platform instead of the two free ones. There is a one way signal right at the exit of the tunnel as indicated by the blue arrow. How can I get them to use the unused platforms? Thanks.

Presignals.

CTRL + Click on a placed signal to make it a presignal.

The ones at the station, make em Exitsignals the same way

Like Chrill said, make a presignal entry out of the first signal (at the end of the tunnel) (by pressing ctrl and clicking once) and pre signal exits out of the signals at the entrance to the platforms (by pressing ctrl and clicking twice).

I've changed the station signals to pre-signal exits and the one out of the tunnel into a pre-signal, but the behavior is the same. The trains are still piling up on that one platform.

check this:

and this:

OUCH - EDIT:
I had a closer look at your image now. you miss a track tile (if you convert it to another railtype you can see it better!). Another solution would be turning 90° curves on what is rather stupid ;)

osai, you nailed it. I didn't even know there was a difference in the maglev tracks. I thought the overall shape would make it work in any direction. I added the missing tracks and it works great now. Thanks!!!

I would just say so, altough I have station configurations working well without presignals, sometimes turning on a good pathfinder also does the trick. :)
