Tramways without tram vehicules + invalid stripes

Post by I'mCool »

Hello everybody,

When I start TTD it says Error loading graphics : DBsetw.grf has invalid sprite, but I can play although. Only problem is I can't start a game in 1921 in tropical or arctic world because there are no vehicules... Also I tried to play without DBsetw, but then there is another grf that has invalid sprites...

When I play in the temperate world I can build Tramways, but unfotunately I can't build trams ... :(

Someone has answers to those questions? I tried to look for an existing topic with those questions but didn't find any, I guess I can't install a game properly :s

You can't build trams because you don't have a tram vehicle grf.

What exactly is the invalid sprite error message? Although I've got a pretty good idea...

If the error message mentions "24", the answer can be found in the FAQ.
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

The message is : Error loading graphics: file " newgrf/dbsetw.grf" has invalid sprite. #2,012(code5/40)

Where can I find those tram vehicles?
Thank you.

Ah. So It's not code 24. In that case, get the updated version of DBSet (or, better, DBSetXL, if you're using the 2.5 betas), from the New Graphics page on the TTDPatch site.

I'm new here and I have the same problem. I already have the DBstXL and still it doesn't work. Do I have to disable something or what settings I have to make ? I read that Temperate set don't work with it. :(

Does it appear in your GRF list in the game? If not, you haven't added it properly.

In Serbian set no. You can try Czech tram set (download link is in right part of page), there are some faster trams.

What you have is the DB Set. Download the DB Set XL from here . It also appears you may need to get a later release of the tropic set.

NAK. Post PNGs, not PCXen. There are plenty of programs that can do the conversion for you. GIMP and IrfanView come to mind. I suspect you can also pay beaucoup bucks for one, but why would you?

you can get IrfanView from Here. The reason your road vehicles turn into trams, i think, is because your tram grf shares vehicle ids with some of your buses, and grf's at the bottom of the list have preference over ones at the top. So the bus grf is displaying trams because it is being overidden by the tram grf.

You must place tram GRFs below LV4 GRF. Did you placed it above?

Open ttdpatch.cfg. Find the line that starts with "multihead". Change it to "multihead 0".

In your newgrf.cfg (it's placed in your TTD game folder). Open it with Notepad or Wordpad and change.
