Train-Depot+Bufferstops = train Multii-Parking !!!!

Post by gibboloco »

Hi Folks

The attached screen shot shows a 5 BAY Train-Depot /Workshop.

Under normal signalling rules 1 Train per track (A,B,C,D,E).

When constructing and placing the Train-depot buildings on the line - DO NOT COVER BUFFER-STOPS. This negates their operation.

Trains will now try to enter a Depot Building - even though there may be a train inside. THERE IS NO CRASH. Clearly this is ideal for Thomas and Gordon for they do like being together when they are having the carriages cleaned, rubbish cleared etc.
Purists please accept this info in the spiirt given - IT's A GAME for every age and intelectual phsycological group.
IN DEPOT A 2 Trains
IN DEPOT B 2 Trains
IN DEPOT C 1 Train
Depending on the length of the train Depot, you can accomodate more trains in the same depot - I've had 3 to date but I have not gone further.

Hope this is all of interst - if it is not please let me know

Kindest Regards

Gibboloco

I like your idea, but to me a train depot should have a small loco shed and a big yard to move my trains about in.

Call me Mr Silly, but thats the purist in me!

You can remove the bufferstops and it will still work. Looks a bit better then.

Sheds without bufferstops, trainyards with.

To Andel

Pleased to note you liked the idea. So will many other game players. Pity that a purist approach to a very simplle game removes the pleasure for most people. It's also Nice to see you following my postings.

To AI

It seems you also have missed the point again AI. Leaving the double buffers in as ashown automatically holds the 'buffered' train for 50 seconds - whereas if they are removed them train returns back so Thomas and Gordan will rarely meet in the same depot!

It's also Nice to see you following my postings

Regards to both of you

Hi there jonnie47

Nice to see the Train Depot Buildings on the tracks - Where's your buffer stops? It seems you don't use them? I do. They give a sense of reality, especially when trains are routed to the Depots/Sidings just before entering or leaving the local station or WHY.
