Window Size

Post by clarklawson »

Hi all,

I've just come back to wanting to play Transport Tycoon and have got it to work using the patch etc. However, when I want to play it in a window its so small its a bit of a problem. But I can't resize the window.

Any ideas on how to solve this please?

1. Read the manual.
2. Implement the knowledge you have gained by reading the manual.

Or, if that didn't work (like in my case) and you're running XP, right-click on the TTDPatch icon, go to the Compatibility Tab and set the compatibility to Windows 95 or 98.
Works for me :)

Yeah, but that was not what he asked about. He wanted to change the size of the window. According to his post he got it to run with no problems.

And why you need to use compatibility mode to get the patch to work is beyond me. Don't you have "win2k = on" in your ttdpatch.cfg?

The ancient versions required setting compatibility modes. In the absence of information to the contrary, I'm going to suggest that NoGravity upgrade to either the most recent stable (2.0r1) or the most recent alpha (2.0.1a71).
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

Thanks Prof. Frink.

I've had a look through the manual.
Noticed what switches to add.
Opened up the ttdpatch.cfg in notepad.
Attempted to add the line 'resolutionwidth 640' first.
Error message when opening up using the patch....
Invalid cfg line 'resolutionwidth 640'
Could some say how to add this and the resolutionhight switch into the .cfg file I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advace.

Which version of TTDPatch are you using?

The resolution switches are only in the alpha series, found at http://www.ttdpatch.net/src

Just noticed that. I'm patched to 2.0.1 alpha 71.

I've added resolutionwidth 1000 but doesn't get wider. are there any values that will make is wider?

That's also in the Manual.

You have to specify both values, Width and Height.

I have the latest stable patch, but I don't mean the compatibility in ttdpatchw.cfg but just the compatibility function built-in with WinXP.
(Right-click, Properties, Compatibility) ;)

I've managed to get it sorted.

I noticed somewhere later on in the code they were 'off'.

It didn't really do what I wanted, it just widened up the map but kept the text the same size! ARGH!

Reading the rest of the manual to see if its there. :?

The "stretchwindow" option might do what you want then.
