If you download the program, remember that at first it'll seem really old
fashioned and basic, but with a little perseverance it becomes an
exceptionally powerful and accurate network simulation. The basic graphics
help it to run fast.

Re: Bahn 3.58
Well I haven't deleted it from my hard drive but I agree it is a real
labour of love to build up a complex network. Probably the main
attraction is that it runs in speeded up real time rather than the
virtual time of TTDLX or RRT2. Setting up the network is very similar to
programming a real railway service (of which I have had some experience)
in that for each route you have to calculate the number of trains to
maintain each departure from either end of the line (i.e. similar to a
rolling stock diagram).
Setting up a working signalling system is also quite a challenge.
The downside is the (very) primitive graphics, no 3D view, no
geographical relief and not even simple sound effects. When I first
registered the programme I asked Jan Bochmann what the chance of a more
TT version would be, but the reply was 'very unlikely.'
By split tracks, I presume you mean tracks on more than one level. It is
sort of possible by using bridges or tunnels to pass one track over
another but the crude 2D graphics give no impression of height or grade.
