3 more (there's the first three on the previous page  )

AR 4) Torpenhow. The passenger station is served by 0-6-0 tank engines which run from Milton Keynes via Truro & Heskin Green. Despite laying deep in a valley, the town recieves a good rail service due to it having the nearest farm to Milton Keynes.

AR 5) Hucknall. Curent end for the 'Alpine Mainline'. Served by Standard Fives from Milton Keynes, which also call at Quidhampton.

AR 6) Map.

W_t is another guy that seems to enjoy to build railways in a realistic way. Good! By the way, why not to change the main color of the AR? Those blue sings aren't clearly visible in sub-artic games.

Cheers Ivan. Decided to change the company colours on your advice  to black, although all railway vechiles will still show the traditional red and blue Livery.

Three more here from 1970.

The Alpine Mainline that stretches across the Map from Milton Keynes - Leeds has recentley been completed. Though it wasn't exactly plain sailing and debts have spiralled upto £1.3 Million (my loan at the moment )

AR 7) Shot of Milton Keynes showing how its changed since the 30s. (Here's what it looked like then). Much of the old Stock has been replaced or rerouted to less important routes, while a trial of Electrification has begun on the branch line to Scunthorpe. (Two BR 'AM10''s can be seen, though the wires are currently invisible)

AR 8) Shadoxhurst Station & Shadoxhurst Viaduct. A class 47 crosses Macclesfield Valley on the viaduct built in the early 50s. It was the most effective way to cross the valley and continue the line on to Osbaldwick as although trains have to wait for other trains to clear the line, they can still pick up some speed when crossing.

AR 9) Leeds. A class 25 departs with an express service to Milton Keynes. In the future when we have some money new routes will be built to the towns lying to the south of Leeds.

The viaduct is fantastic; I must steel your idea!

Cheers Ivan and The Irish. :D

Here's three more of the newly opened line between Penwortham (on the line between Milton Keynes and Leeds) and Harwarden.

AR 10) Cambourne is the first station on the line and is currently served by a solitary BR AM 10. However the railway around the village still sees plenty of traffic in the form of the wheat/grain trains from the local farm as well as Iron ore from Rufford to Milton Keynes Steel Mill.

On show here is 86001 hauling an express from Milton Keynes to Hawarden (with a brief stop at Penwortham).

AR 11) Rufford is the next station along an again is served by a solitary train (on view in the shot). Also on view is the iron ore mine with twoc class 86 hauled iron ore trains.

AR 12) Harwarden is the current terminus of the line for passenger trains, however occasionally coal trains pass the station on route to Whitehaven Coal Mines.

AR 13) Hawarden a few years down the line after the opening of a new line to Bolton in the South West. A new food processing plant was built in the town and is now served by Class 92 hauled milk & wheat trains from Bolton. Most of the food is transported by truck to the shops in the town centre though some is transported by Cargo Trams on the new tramway to Barnsley.

Also of note is the Pendolino which works express services to Bolton - occasionally stopping at Barnsley on the Way.

AR 14) Whitehaven is a town south of Harwarden (though this is not on the Harwarden/Bolton Line). The station is served by far less traffic than originally anticipated due to a shortage in funds for the creation of new routes to the East mainly due to some dodgy overspending elsewhere by me . On view here are the two class 321 EMUs that work between Whitehaven & Camberley/Tilbury.

AR 15) Shot of the mountain town of Barnsley which is a short distance south west of Harwarden. Two Pendolinos and one of the two cargo trams are on view.

Awesome shots there, I think that the company colors fits very well into the arctic climate. And the minimal use of signal is also nice, it makes the screenshots more realistic.
Cant wait for more!
btw: Which newgrf are you using for trees in your screenshot thread?

Cheers Benny.

The trees are SACs stolen trees with snow. They're not around on the forums for download, though you can download the openttdcoop pack which contains them (the grf is called testw.grf).

The grf is a test file that George did to try to motivate SAC into finishing her trees. It can be found here. You need to log in, I think.

The version of OTTD I was using got merked. Here's a new game then using Tibb's Patchpack.

Swanley & Blennerhasset Railway
Est. 1921

The Swanley & Blennerhasset Railway was orginally established as a small railway linking the Two cities. However Large profits and high passenger demand encouraged the company to develop the railway to head Westwards to the towns of Greenock, Hoylake and Canterbury. This line too became a succesful venture resulting in further Expansion of the railway. By 1940 the Blennerhasset & Swanley area had direct rail links with other major cities in the region such as Hoylake, Newcastle, Winchester & Castleford.

The first two shots show the railway at Blennerhasset and Swanley.

In the first shot SWBR 1. We see the main Station at Blennerhasset. A1001 City of Hoylake approaches Blennerhasset with an Express from Hoylake. While on Platform 1 A4001 King George VI loads up with passengers travelling to Newcastle.

SWBR 2. shows Swanley Central. Large passenger numbers and 18 trains scheduled to call here meant that the original two platform station was insufficient. As a result the station was expanded to six platforms, while the line (to the east) to Blennerhasset was Quadrupled.

SWBR 3. shows Shildon. Despite its small size, shildon was the first station, after the construction of Blennerhasset & Swanley Central, to be built. Local trains for Shildon leave the Hoylake mainine at Shildon Junction, while the Mainline itself singles for a short stretch between Shildon Junction and Greenock.

Three more:

SWBR 4. shows the area of Hoylake & Canterbury. Express services from Swanley travel direct to Hoylake, while semi-fasts make an additional stop at Canterbury (Main). In the future there are plans to buld a new line from Hoylake - Swindon.

SWBR 5. shows the area of Orlingbury & Shipley. The Stations lie on the Castleford & Winchester mainline, with Orlingbury lieing on the Castleford Branch & Shipley lies on the Winchester Branch. Both stations receive a very irregular service.

SWBR 6. shows Castleford station, which is one of only three under the wires. This is due to a trial with electrics being run on the line from Winchester - Cambridge - Castleford. If this proves succesful, electrification may be implemented on other routes.

Two more:

SWBR 7. shows Much Hoole Junction. Much Hoole is situated south west of Swanley and is the junction between the Newcastle Mainline, and the Castleford & Winchester mainline. Despite the towns small size, the station is well served with only express services between the major cities not calling here. 370004 heads northwards to Swanley (from Winchester), while 50003 approaches platform 2 with a semi fast to Newcastle & 370006 prepares to depart platform 1 with a service to Castleford.

SWBR 8. shows Leyland, which is the next station south of Much Hoole on the Newcastle Mainline. The station is well served with all semi fast services calling here as well as one of the three express (4-6-2 'Streamliner' hauled) services calling here. In the future there are plans to link the town with Blennerhasset via a new route through Burton & Durham.
