Nice. Some of eis_os' water under the ones across the trench would complete the effect.

With the culvert in the bag (1st generation, that is) it's time to move on to a more pressing issue: the concrete road bridge. The million dollar question: should a concrete bridge have a concrete road surface, or default/NARS road surfaces? Hmm...

Concrete in the early years to avoid it getting a dirt surface. As it grows older, it will need maintenance and repairs meaning it eventually gets paved in asphalt in the default/NARS surfacing.

How do you plan to avoid people building track/road/water under those bridges, resulting in weird behaviour of vehicles/ships?

Good question! The water would be ok as culverts often connect bodies of water. The track and roads would be of concern if it is not possible to block them with the grf code. If such is the case then an appropriate warning should be included in the readme. If a player is serious about the game, he/she will have the good sense to avoid the situation. The rest of the players deserve what they get. This leaves the AI who is well known for doing strange things. Is it possible to block the AI from using certain bridges, in this case the culverts?

*EDIT* Oh yes ... the ships! I guess the culverts would have to be resticted to being built on land tiles.

No, that´s not possible (yet).

As long as we don´t may "block" such tiles by the .grf in question, we should abstain from such a "feature".

BUMP

Okay, I did a plate-girder bridge, and some american-styled ramps.

Plate girder bridge, a classic. They could be built long, but were usually short. I'm debating whether or not it should have gaurdrails, or the planks in between the rails.

American stye ramps. The ramp graphics may not be the best, but they are what an american ramp would look like. Piers would look similar to the abutments. (the wide flat part, the bridge rest on those.)

Halted sounds so final. How about "Postponed"?

That would be misleading; let's call it abandoned then ...

Why not combine it with the other bridge set?

Does this mean that the NA Roads set will not receive compatibility with any bridge set?
