What about a prize? What will be the prize?
Seeing a nice train in the set, rather than the god-ugly train it is IRL?

Yup! And another picture is here, and here you can see a .PDF document that explains some technical facts about this train. It's written in French, but the images speak for themselves. We would ideally need all versions (7, 8, 10, and 11 cars) but of course even one of those would be a starting point.
Note, the livery you can see on the pictures in the links is the Alstom livery (i.e. the prototype). It will most certainly not be the final livery SNCF will paint its trains in (I think they yet have to design one). When the final livery gets known, we will eventually need it for our set, but the Alstom livery will be a good start.
Actually, we weren't thinking about implementing our set to OTTD, but now that you mention it, it would be a very interesting added feature to it. Especially because OTTD runs natively on Macs, so I'd be able to play it without running Parallels Desktop
Some coding work is going on, behind the scenes, and we might release a very small taster earlier than we might expect. If you are interested in porting our work to OTTD, why don't you drop me a PM? Tu peux même m'écrire en français.
You asked me to contact him, but I can't see someone with this nick on this thread. So I'm afraid I can't contact him
Using the "Search" button at the top of the forums page, I entered "Death" in the field titled "Authors", selected "Posts" and clicked on search. The search returned a great number of posts by Death. Clicking on his name returned his profile here
Death has kindly accepted to do some preliminary work on our set! Expect a taster version some time in the next future (it will have to be beta tested before being released though ).
This will be the first tangible product of ours, until OzTransLtd starts the main coding work. He's currently busy with his other projects, and more engines and wagons still need to be drawn before we can release a more complete version.
We will also need the results of NewRoutes for our set to be fully functional in all the complexity we expect to create.
We'd like to thank both Death and OzTransLtd, as well as Wile who did some initial tests on the first engine, for their interest and their help with our project!
Say, do any of you people working on the French set, know anything about Spanish trains? Since Spain is next to France, I thought maybe someone would. We have basically all the trains drawn for the Spanish set, and Death has coded them, but we are missing a few stats. Please take a look at the Spanish set thread if you might be able to contribute anything. Thanks!

Not really, unluckily... I've tried to do some research, but I couldn't really find any info on the engines you're missing. What I could come up with is a sensible guesstimation of the missing stats for a couple of them, basing on other European trains that were very similar.
There are many trains that come from France on your list, but their stats are already filled up
Well, we'll take the sensible guesstimate (as long as it's noted somehow), so we can release the set. Maybe that will gain publicity and someone will show up with the right stats for the next version.

Extensive work has been going on behind the scenes. Updates of old stuff, mostly. Yet I take the chance to introduce a new engine...
It's another steamer In this case, the 151TQ built in 1940 by Corpet-Louvet. It will be the cheapest steamer of the last generation. Slow, not very powerful, but inexpensive, it will be an alternative to early diesel traction on branch lines where keeping costs under control is a must.
What do you think? You can get another pic here...
Snail, you PMed me a while ago about finishing the LaPoste TGV I started recolouring, and mentioned sending me the other sprites... I never got these... Fancy posting them here so I can get to work on it?

Thanks for asking!
I will as soon as they are ready. As I said, we're working behind the scenes to enhance pretty much all of our already drawn stuff, and this includes TGVs. As soon as I'm done adding some detail to Coalroads' already excellent TGVs (having got his permission ) I'll send them to you so that you can finish the LaPoste variant.
Purno's steamers are in the works as well though, so it might take a while...
