Aah, but we can change the colors too.
Well, it's not green, but...

Sanchimaru: Your designs are really nice, but I think they are to much eye catching.
(via action 5 you should be able to change the display, so everyone can use their favourite design)

Well I guess I use this graphic: (the yellow no way are to eye catching aswell, I try to change that)

Wouldn't the green arrow be enough? I like them and I think they're clear enough.

I like eis_os' original green arrows, with Sanchimaru's layout. It's clear and looks cool.

I agree with Purno, the green stands out against the dark colour of asphalt.

Sanchimaru's marks2.png looks the best to me. A clear colour that will stand out between large city buildings and the arrows itself are properly shaped too,

As I said, they are to eyecatching (in my opinion), currently I can't disable/toggle the overlay mode with the building tools...

We'll have to see them running to realize if the glowing colors are better or the arrows are enough.

By the way, now I'm a bit confused about the marks: in your last screenshot there are the green arrows and the yellow ones... what does each of them represent?

Sorry folks but I'm a little confused.

eis_os: When you say "building mode" I assume that you are referring to when the road tile is being placed by the road laying tool. After the road tile is placed, the direction indicator would dissappear, and the player would then see only the road. Is this correct, or would the direction indicator persist after the road is built as well?

Ok again answering time :|

We have two overlays with 3 sprites each (called the new system):

Overlay 1:
direction ne-sw (sw-ne not driveable) green arrow in the allowed driving direction
direction sw-ne (nw-se not driveable) green arrow ...
driving sw-ne and ne-sw not allowed yellow mark

Overlay 2:
direction se-nw green arrow in the driving direction
direction nw-se green ...
driving nw-se se-nw not allowed (yellow)

Both overlays combined show all possible settings.

wallyweb:
The plan is to show the markers for all road tiles when you are in road building / construction mode (you have the green road construction window open). But this feature currently doesn't work so the markers for all tiles are permanently shown...

Shouldn't there be something visible all the time, otherwise people might start wondering why the vehicles refuse to use that particular piece of road ? (specially if they download a scenario)

This could be done by giving every other road centerline a different colour.
You wouldn't be able to tell which drivedirection is allowed this way, but at least it would be obvious there is something special with that piece of road.

Well thats why I have drawn the small arrows so they don't stand so much out.
The road marker lines should be done via action 321 and new road graphics I think... (And I won't code the action321 system for it, no way!)

Curves don't have fonctional one-way road status...

eis_os : Thanks - A road set artist can redo the graphics after the release.

Another question ... can the game/towns build roads off of and into the one way roads as it does with the current roads?

Hope to see them soon ... I have a game and scenario that are perfect candidates for testing these

Is it possible to choose in game between:
- no anything signaling one-way road;
- signs (as Purno drew);
- arrows on roads?

Again (hopefully the last time) the signs posted by purno can't show for each tile a status, they aren't sufficient for building roads! :?

If there will be any action support to replace roads and then support such signs I can't say, I will not write such a system...

wallyweb: the town road system should work as before

Oskar ... this seems to be the default topic for one way roads.
If you think this post should appear elsewhere, let me know.

I downloaded onewayw.grf and added it to my newgrf.cfg and I set onewayroads=on in ttdpatch.cfg

For East and West, I can set the direction arrow without any problems.
In North and South it does not seem to work properly.
I can get an arrow pointing North which RV's seem to ignore and I can get a yellow symbol which seems to indicate a blocked road and does prevent RV's from entering the tile.
I can't get one way South.
It may be that I am simply doing something wrong but I can't find any instructions or readme on the proper application other than ctrl + click with the road building tool on a preexisting road tile.
Do you have any suggestions?

Yes, as with the building road pieces, the feature is position dependend!
Will try to write a manual today...
