Read grf.txt in the grfcodec package, tile sprites work with a additonal compression. Well my current mouse ttd pointer has a shadow now :))

Its good to see the project is comming along. I have tried to find the download the file but had no sucsess (upon learning that the thread has been edited) :(.

I do hope that the next update would have the tubular replacement for the roads, rail, and maglevs :).

Well, my current version has roads, rail, and maglevs. But It won't be published anymore because I don't want to start a new flame war.
Aka this thread is only for graphical opinion, not for a grf.

It was because of the license he attached with his graphics, which stated that it could only be used with an 'official' build of TTDPatch (Alpha, Beta, Probably the forks each Dev have) aswell as being only used with a legally aquired copy of TTD. Among others things.

Sure, it was a bit harsh in areas (I've seen worse), but Eis_os had every right to make them, he has to have a legal leg to stand on in the (IMO very unlikely) case of a legal dispute between Atari and the OpenTTD dev's, which would most likely spill over to TTDPatch and also, the Loco modding bunch.

But lets not go down this line of discussion once again, I hope that answers your question SuperTycoon.

So basically he doesn't want them used for OTTD in case Atari sue OTTD? Ok fair enough! Though I have to say a guide to adding shadow would be a nice addition to the graphics section  I can just imagine every TTD building having a shadow! wow! But anyway, good work eis_os! and i can see why your choosing to be careful!

Please don't close the topic Oskar, it is important for people to be able to talk about this bridge. Heck, I'll close it if you don't, if it dissolves into another flame war. However, as there have been no releases, then nobody has any right to attack or insult you, and thus there should be no need for arguing :)).

Also, good to see that more people are using compressed sprites, it certainly is another revolution (not to mention your sprite-increasing patch!). Thanks for all your work, and I am sorry that the minority infulenced you.

Well compressed sprites are build in into TTD Grfs, and tile compression aswell, the question was how to fool TTD to draw a shadow aswell.
And make it work without rewriteing grfcodec :)

I can't currently reveal the internal logic of it, otherwise some OpenTTD folks will write it and claim it's their Code...

Well I played a bit more with my system (rewritten it on A LOT parts):

Now my bridge has a blueish glas recoloring, it's not the best recolor table, but it doesn't look to bad...

Forget the glass, that looks like a chain-link fence, which is highly realistic - more so even on roads. That's a great bridge!

No. It doesn't work with any released version of TTDPatch yet.
