Purno wrote:But Mauro, can you release the NMBS/SNCB-set without getting troubles with MB???
The release of the Belgian Set won't include anything MB has made. I used his decompiled grf-files to let me set the xsize, ysize, xrel and yrel values and test them in-game. I would have had the same result if i wrote the nfo-files myself or used the ones of someone else.
There are no grf-files for the Belgian set at this moment, just graphics.
I would find it quite ironic if MB won't permit me to release a set because it was created by reverse engineering. Wasn't the patch that made all this possible, created the same way?
Don't be surprised if he does though. You should never have posted the origin of the NFO files. If you swiped his graphics, that would be both wrong and obvious. But with NFO files, if the sprites are the same size (and they probably would be), then naturally the NFO file would be the same whether it was copied or done from scratch.

:/ that's a lame answer. Very pathetic.
I am not working on any projects, and thus I am not allowed to have an opinion? rrrrrrright. Veeeery logical.
I am not doing anything for any project, no. But mainly because:
I don't want to work with an arrogant person such as you.
I have more important things to do (something called a life...)
Some other stuff I will not be telling you guys about because they just happen to be part of my private/social life
Anyhow, like I said.
I think it's the worst idea ever to start 9165135498761385 projects while hardly any project has ever been finished.
And I don't give a damn if someone thinks I shoudl calm down. I am quite calm, I'm just telling you guys what my opinion is.
GoneWacko. Making #tycoon sexy and exciting since 1784.

I didn't say that.

Thanks. I believe you don't know me so how do you know I'm arrogant?
GoneWacko wrote:[*]I have more important things to do (something called a life...)
Then why are you at the forums?

I agree that some projects must be finished, but I don't like to work on specific projects.

You're allowed to give your opinion. I just wanted to know on which projects you were working on.
I agree that it's better not to start new projects when there are so many good projects not yet finished. In particular, this DB passenger set should wait because there's already a perfectly good DB set. Why can't we finish the other half-done sets first?
BUT, one of the things about open-source projects is that everyone is a volunteer, and you can't MAKE people do what you want. I've tried to convince people to not start new projects yet; I've been successful with some, and not with others. Purno, obviously, wants to do this project. Well, it's better to have him working on this other project than for him to get disgusted and leave. He's certainly not hurting anything with it, and furthermore, he's also contributing to other projects at the same time, which is helpful.
I think things will be better in another month or two. The US set will be out then, and the Japan set will be too, or very close. I bet the Dutch set will be almost ready also, maybe the Belgian set. Then that leaves the BR set as the only one remaining that has had major work on it, that still needs more major work. The Planeset is kind of in its own world, as the people that draw planes seem to not like to draw trains, and vice versa.
Of course, don't forget that DanMacK is going to start the Canadian set as soon as the US set is released...

I really like the work of Purno and just look at how much quality graphics he had created: it's absolutely amazing!
Finishing the other sets is really important i think, but this set is not just another new one. The purpose of this set is adding decent cargo wagons to the sets that don't have their own regional cargo graphics. The NS, SNCB, CSD and all future european sets can use these graphics (in stead of creating their own) which would speed up the completion time of these sets a lot. So I don't think this set is a bad idea...
Just be nice, GoneWacko. Don't harass people when you don't have to. It's your right to have an opinion. State it, give it some fundation and don't be surprised if someone else disapproves of it. Please, no replies to this in this topic. PM me or kick me from the channel.
I have been coming here for almost three months now and all I have seen
a group of people go around putting down people or putting words into the people they are putting down this day or that day when these people have posted in a thread on this website. I will say these peoples names here but I think they who they are. at time these people act like children.
then why are you at the forums because no love life
because they are part of your lonely life
then get a new life
This is my version of a standard european Eas-u coal hopper,
could somebody (Purno or Raven most prefered) try to correct my shading?
I have no idea how to do it.
