Reminds me an awful lot of Cities in Motion. Looks the same, only this features trains whereas Cities in Motion is just what the name says; for cities. Not intercity travel as much.

Looks pretty exciting. I hope that they get the realism of train stations
right :) . I love OpenTTD, but I don't want to demolish a city to put a
train station in the middle or grow the city artificially around the train
station.

The buses -> trains -> buses and back makes sense to me.

It has? That's pretty cool indeed. I didn't back it in the end because €40 was just over my budget for stuff like this.

Not only has it reached it's funding target, but it has done so 10 days before the deadline, which is pretty impressive.

When I came to terms with myself to actually hand over the 40€, it was already too late. Missed it by a few hours only. Cant decide if I should be mad or happy. Guess I'll see about that in a year, when it's done.

Every few weeks new screenshots and details about the game are posted on the website: http://www.train-fever.com/
Currently there is information about terrain, roads and railroads.
I really like what I see so far. :)

Ah, so they've finally confirmed path-based signals. What a relieve - last time I googled the only post I found regarding that was ... one I had written myself

Sounds promising, definitely.

There is a definitive air of "Cities in Motion 3" about this :p

It's all looking very promising. I'm looking forward to this game. Functionality and graphics both look amazing. :)

I'm still pretty sad that I didn't back this, but at least I'll get it when it's released - at full-price probably, but I don't mind. Having played a spot of CiM2 that was on Steam Sale recently the need for this game to come out has only increased rather steeply.

Oh wow a developer that actually listens to what the community is saying, this game might be actually decent.

My only worries are scenario editor and modding support, I want to tinker with this thing when it's out.

Oh and i wonder about the possibility of multiplayer.

Modding will be possible (see linked blog entry from Robbedems posting above, one of the last sentences)

That's quite an understatement, to me it looks superb and a worthy successor to 3DTT.
