now that you must of improved somewhat i think you might want to try a catenery replacement, third-rail. say yes Prettey pleaaaise!

You can't use third rail as catenary system. Catenary is placed over the train sprites, not below.

Hmm...

That just made me think...

What if the third rail was placed at the front side of the rail?

Hmm...

That'd look strange on junctions I think.

Anyways, just thinking out loudly :P

That has nothing to do with it, AFAICT.

Catenary sprites are drawn over the train sprites. Isn't it?

Hi james. One thing I feel that is missing from the DB Set XL is a double decker coach. SO i got off my arse and drew one... trouble is I can't code and I am struggling with the learning part so could you code this for me... just a coach and a Drving Car/Trailer thingy, the idea being that a loco pulls this lot like a normal train, unless of course you can make the train reverse so it can run Push/Pull.

If would be good, god I'm making this complex, if you could do this so that it would appear as a refit option to the normal coaches.

Passenger Capacity of normal coach 75. Capacity of Drving Car 60.

EDIT: The final finished version not the "work in progress" version of before.

Tho those sprites look quite fine (really :!:) , you should read my tutorials part about not-mirroring diagonals. Besides, you missed a diagonal with white headlights.

Yeah I know i've just realised i've posted the wrong version because I haven't reshaded "the dark side" (cue darth vader impression). Got to dig out the proper one and will post that later. Thanks Purno

Purno is correct. That's the third (rail type), not the (third rail) type.
As in "catenary above either monorail or maglev, whichever your unifiedmaglev setting dictates".
Or, more likely, "catenary above the Shinkasen tracks."

Electrification by third rail is a completely different can of worms.
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

Michael, is that version released or still in development, if it is still in development could you please inform me as to when it will be released and will the Double deck coaches be able to work in push-pull mode?

V0.9 is still in development. Although that double decker coach was included originally in v0.83 which has been never released, though.

Yes, they should. Although, ATM, there´s no real patch feature to support push-pull service but only an "ugly .grf hack". That´s why it depends: if there´ll be a patch feature before release, it´ll be included, together with other engine/coach combinations for push-pull service. If not, I´ll add a small extra .grf which would contain only two or three combinations.

So, you've got version 8.3 but you have never released it. Any chance you could do that now? because I'm at the critical point in the game where I need more capacity on passenger trains but I have no room! I need bigger capacity trains.

Umm, Ameecher, don't demand work from artists/coders. Make your trains longer until v0.9 is released. :wink:

Acknowledged. If only I could make trains longer. 5 tile long stations in the middle of cities are a bit hard to make longer!

That's the challenge of the game, I suppose. It may require A LOT of bribes, and reworking your network, but you can do it. You've made it this far. :wink:
