Kotssmurf's screenshots
Re: Kotssmurf's screenshots
Fourt screen show Drondhattan, by far the smallest station in the country.
Only one line stops here, with busses going to all parts of the country.
Fifth screen show Sanwell's passenger harbour, where people arriving on boat from the underdeveloped South West can reach almost the entire country with a maximum of 2 transfers.
Last screen show the newly constructed small harbour station of Plunbury, where small trains are serving just the inner city for now, but expansion plans are in the making.

Absolutely fantastic looking shots. How did you get 3 docks to one station? Isn't that restricted to one?

It is; each dock is very likely associated with a different stationNorfolkadam wrote:Absolutely fantastic looking shots. How did you get 3 docks to one station? Isn't that restricted to one?

Place Adjacent Station - Hold Ctrl and place a station next to an existing one to create a new one instead of enlarging the existing. Needs Advanced Setting "adjacent_stations" set.Supercheese wrote:It is; each dock is very likely associated with a different stationNorfolkadam wrote:Absolutely fantastic looking shots. Re: Kotssmurf's screenshots
Right, but alls I was sayin' was that all 3 docks couldn't be associated with the same station. You'd get the error "Too close to another dock" if you tried to add another dock to a station that already had one.ISA wrote:Place Adjacent Station - Hold Ctrl and place a station next to an existing one to create a new one instead of enlarging the existing. I, too, would very much like to know which setting you are referring to.Norfolkadam wrote:Which setting? That would be very handy.ZxBiohazardZx wrote:you acutally can change that setting somewhere too

I'm not 100% sure, but is there a switch?! I would just try to hold down 'Ctrl' key and build a station and see what happensSupercheese wrote:I, too, would very much like to know which setting you are referring to.Norfolkadam wrote:Which setting? That is what I did! Of course we are talking about latest nightly, not sure about the other versions!

You can hold down Ctrl and build the dock as long as it's attached to another station but I don't know if this other person is talking about the ability to associate more than one dock with a single station. That would be very helpful.

Re: Kotssmurf's screenshots
No that's not possible! But it would be good to have docks what works same way as Rv stations. But it wont add nothing to the game play generally!Norfolkadam wrote:associate more than one dock with a single station
But now should go back to screen shots again

Re: Kotssmurf's screenshots
3 more screenies to get back on topic
First screenshot show Sarfingly and Great Pruningbury. Sarfingly has quiet a lot of Oil ridges nearby, and since they've been connected to a refinery the town's funds have skyrocketed, leading to the construction of a brand new station. This turned out to be more difficult then originally planned, thank to its remote location and hilly landscape. Great Pruningbury is a popular destination among tourists well known for it's romantic B&B's.
Second shot is Gadhattan Ridge, a town situated between mountan peaks, and mostly known for mountain lodges. From here, busses take the tourists higher in the mountains.
Last screenshot is Deburg Springs latest addition to the innercity network. While the greater Deburg Springs metropolitan area is filling up the vally, demand for innercity transport booms.
No efforts have been spared to develop the region, and an intelligent system of trams, busses, boat shuttle services and inner city trains has been constructed, all interconnected.
The station building has been built a ground level, where the platforms are at -1.

Re: Kotssmurf's screenshots
One more quick one
Deburg Springs has grown quiet a lot over the years and soon the valley will be overgrown.
The island also seen is known as 'Freedom island', receiving its name because it's mostly inhabited by artist and musicians.
It's the place to be for a nice night out in the city, very popular among youth.

Re: Kotssmurf's screenshots
Is there a scenario available for us (or actually me) to play?
Re: Kotssmurf's screenshots
Well honestly it's a heightmap I found somewhere here on the forum with random town generation.
I can upload the heightmap if you want...

Maybe, but then I need to use the same GRF's which ones did you use?
And what start year?

Sorry, didn't notice your reply untill now...Lundis wrote:Maybe, but then I need to use the same GRF's which ones did you use?

I started in 1930, but to be honest I change the date the entire time to be able to have the early houses from the Swedish set, I find them way better looking in this kind of scenario.
I attached the Newgrf list, and a quick screenshot for the hell of it

Edit: Heightmap included, I can't remember where I found it but it was something handmade, kudos to the creator!
