Since the DB restructioning of EWS and their ownership of so many assets within the UK perhaps we should ditch the old BR symbol for a station and adopt the stylised red and white DB logo used by them.
Ony joking ( for the moment ) and on an aside I see the EU are taking 13 states to court for failing to liberalise their national rail networks to make them open access including Ireland which is a joke as they only have a connection to NIR and use the 5`3" gauge anyway.
Open Access can do wonders in a more developed network, like the UKs, where Grand Central, WSMR and Hull Trains have flourished. Ireland's network is quite odd in some respects, with almost no lines, and a weird gauge limiting potential to have open access.
