GTW Generation 2+ (split from LoMo)

Shouldn't the Arriva units now be retitled as DB? Now that they bought Arriva for nearly 1.5 billion pounds!

They're still Arriva everywhere. They haven't been rebranded (yet), but time will, of course, tell.

Nice work also, strongbow!

I am actually surprised the deal went through when you think of how extensive the Arriva operations are in Europe and how DB have the German market tightly tied up.
Since the DB restructioning of EWS and their ownership of so many assets within the UK perhaps we should ditch the old BR symbol for a station and adopt the stylised red and white DB logo used by them.

Ony joking ( for the moment ) and on an aside I see the EU are taking 13 states to court for failing to liberalise their national rail networks to make them open access including Ireland which is a joke as they only have a connection to NIR and use the 5`3" gauge anyway.

Open Access can do wonders in a more developed network, like the UKs, where Grand Central, WSMR and Hull Trains have flourished. Ireland's network is quite odd in some respects, with almost no lines, and a weird gauge limiting potential to have open access.

We sorta derailed it because of uktrackbuilder_loco's comment that the Arriva ones should be renamed to DB, since the takeover's been passed, but they shouldn't, because that would be like the Oceanian government in "1984" removing references to people/things that betrayed them or they changed their minds about. Doubleplusungood. Besides, DB haven't even rebranded Arriva yet.
