Pretty impressive map you have there too
Thank you both ^^

What I mean is that your posts say Lightning International, and your map says Lighting International.

Oh snap...

God damn me and my lack of proof-reading skills! Only just noticed what you meant.

Edit:
Fixed. And added the planned extension for my HS line.

Well, I decided to give OTTD a spin for a change, in particular Chill's patchpack. Which means (amongst other things) cargodist. The implementation here is thankfully a lot less laggy than the one I mashed together :P
OTTD has a fair few other perks too, and I only managed to crash it once.

I might put some screenies up from the game later. I'm currently being overrun with cargo (hence the increasing conglomerate of lines in some areas), and only just worked out where the switch to turn it down was...

This map is not final, no doubt I'll change my mind again, and add more stuff. (Between starting to draw this and finishing, I redid major chunks of the routing...)
Some ideas/inspiration stolen from ZVV ^^

I've been fiddling around on Adobe Photoshop and I came up with this for my current region; Mercia. It's an English-themed region inter-city and regional trains. The Bromsgrove Metro is, in fact, heavy rail DMUs branded as Metro as opposed to the trams in most cities I didn't show.

Class 165. Awesome. Love it. Really love it... but Luton on the same as Watford... there's going to be fighting...

Norfolkadam, that is amazing. Really beautiful, perhaps the best I've seen!? Lovely shades too. Not sure about the kink on the IC1 near the sale end Sale end though.

Both of them 'feel' like real networks. Norfolks has some great mainlines with branches coming off them. 165's feels like an early London map, nice straight forward radials coming straight out of the city to link with towns. Loving the Metropolitan to Aylesbury.

Love to see some screenshots of the actual games. (edit: just found 165's!)

Keep em coming!

Thanks for your comments. :D

I totally agree about the kink near Sale, not even sure why I put it there but it's gone now. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8156858/dekinke ... Trains.pdf

Also attatched a screenshot for you of Frizington and Stanley. Most of the network is only semi-finished where I have the stations but no buses or trams providing feeder services. Here though it's pretty much done. I'm using Mk4s hauled by Class 90s as the InterCity trains and 321s as the regional services.

I need to update my screenshot thread, but I still haven't got round to building the Northampton link. God Harrow is going to be hell, with trains going to/from Wycombe, Aylesbury and Northamton, and then fast trains cutting across it to go up to Leeds...

This is an update since the last post I made in this thread.

There's been quite a bit of development since then...

Bonus Edit: Here is the (probably final) update to my TTDP network map.

This is the connections map for the mainlines in the east of my region. There are three different classes of services offered:

Regio: Diesel Super Sprinters connecting small towns and villages to the main hubs.
Voyager: Diesel Voyager units running on the un-electrified intercity routes in the south.
Enterprise: Electric Pendolino units running on the over-head electrified intercity routes in the north.

The in-game map for the Eastern part of the region. You can see there's still some branch lines that need building but the intercity core is done and dusted.

This is the area around the main hub of the system Egham. You can see a Regio train leaving Egham West en route to Leyland and two Enterprise trains on the central platforms at Egham Mainline one going north, one south. I try to go for realism rather than profit-making or fancy networking and I think that kind of shows. There's no huge junctions or complex stations just an attempt at networking.
