Anybody got an idea how to get rid of wood? I built myself a nice mountaintop castle with long arch access bridge, but the bridge is all encased in wood scaffolding. I hoped fire would do the job, but it leaves wood blocks randomly hanging in the air

I've been following this topic for a while and the screenshots look interesting and amazing. But I can't figure out what exactly this Minecraft is...

From Wikipedia

Minecraft is a sandbox game which allows players to build constructions out of textured cubes in a 3D world

Two games mode are actually active:

Creative Mode (a.k.a Minecraft Classic)

Minecraft Classic features only the game's base functionality, allowing players to build and destroy any and all parts of the world, either alone or in a multiplayer server, without the need to worry about being attacked by mobs or avoiding hazards like lava or steep falls.

Survival mode

Requires that the player use the building mechanic as a method of protection from hostile monsters, and as a way to uncover useful ores in the ground. Farming or hunting is also necessary to maintain a sufficient food supply.

Both modes also feature a Multiplayer version.

I have also heard it called "DwarfFortress Easy Edition".

(yes yes, I know... anyone could have looked that up... I'm just being lazy.)

Just craft an axe already!

It is extremely annoying to demolish this kind of structure with axe, because I have to run around to the mountain after each deleted pillar. But it seems there is no other way

On a mildly related note, I just got lost. Infinite maps obviously aren't giving me a hand here, and the previewer doesn't do what I want it to do. s***'s not cash, yo.

I think you can set your actual possition with Universal Particle Convertor, but I'm not sure how

The previewer seems to fail a lot nowadays. I recommend Cartograph instead.

Thanks, will look into that. I have more than 150 redstone at my base, so I want to find it, but also found 2 x 64 iron and quite some gold already, so I don't want to die and respawn at base either, losing my stuff. Finding my way back is the best solution, I guess.

Btw, anyone managed to build something awesome with redstone so far?

Edit: oh, no OS X version yet. Hmmm, will have to wait or try and get the Java version to run.

Well, it's not about redstone, but I built From-Earth-to-the-Moon like space cannon. I just took PX Minepult design by Blueman, and added about 5 more TNT rings. Flight time (not counting massive lag) is from 10 to 15 seconds. Not possible to build/survive without hacks.

Powered minecarts are great, but they need a lot of work. They're incredibly uncontrollable and original minecart physics that are generating momentum on each bump is very glitchy. But it's funny when a pig steals your train
