This is really not difficult.

The latter is easily fixed by changing the hotkey list in ttdpttxt.txt.

I find the auto-rail tool a pain in the arse sometimes too. That's what the normal tools are for.

There have been a fair few changes and modifications since I last added to this thread...

Here are just a few:

Screen 1:
Fort Rondtown junction was/is a bit of a choke point. To help fix this the line to the north-east was broadened to 3 tracks (why will become more obvious in a later shot), Fort Rondtown station was made bidirectional, with a new entrance from the north-east, and an extra platform was added on that line for trains heading north-east from the south (about a third of all traffic to the station). Previously trains trying to get into the station had at times hampered those trying to leave (and vice-versa), and with the new north-east entrance, trains from the south were having to queue a long time for a free-platform in the old station.

Screen 2:
The corridor from the north end of Chardham station across to Frafingburg Springs was widened to two tracks each way, with one each specifically for wood freight. This was done due to chronic jamming previously, and also paved the way for some recent developments in the Frafingburg Spring area (in another shot).

Screen 3:
This junction is under development again... Mostly because of a bottleneck for freight entering from the south-east and trains south-east bound from Trudingville (which is slightly overloaded). To alleviate these, another track from the south-east as far as the split between the north and west directions was added, by tunnelling under the oil wells (hmm :P). This significantly reduces the amount of congested merging going on just before the junction.
One south-bound line from Trudingville was re-assigned to only carry passenger trains leaving that station, instead of being merged with large amounts of freight, which is now merged with the other 4 lines. (Just off the edge of the shot, might change the screenie later).

Thank you sir. :P

Now, more shots and assorted stuff...

Minimap and Network/planning map:
Do what they say on the tin :3

Screen 4:
Just to show that it's not only rail that can end up with ridiculous queues :P
(The shot's a bit out of date though, I've beefed up the rail junction a little since then)

If there's any particular area you want to see, speak up. (I've got Londworth, Slufingbridge West and Tentbourne in mind; and *maybe* one or two of Flinfingley/Pinnginbury Woods, Frafingburg Springs, Winburg Springs, Sonnwell North, Chunhattan Junction, Minfingford, or some of the minorly changed bits.)

More screenies :3

Screen 1:
A new through-running station section was built across the north-east-bound part of the mainline to handle the increased demand since I started using cargodest (which has been very recently been improved, as regards routing quirks</hint> :P).
The station, thanks to its prime location, is now on 4 passenger lines.
Some boat services along the old aqueducts to neighbouring towns have been added too...

Screen 2:
A big shot of further north-east along that same mainline...
Trendtown has got itself a second airport terminal to ease congestion, and a fair bit of work has been done on the track and junctions between there and Chunttown, north-west of there, as the line is slightly overcrowded. (3 passenger lines and an awful lot of freight run along that section). Trendtown itself is on 5, and is also a freight terminal (and hence at times busy).

Screen 3:
A coal terminal on an unusually quiet day.
Another platform was added to Tufingley for south-east bound passenger services to try and ease congestion and prevent blockages from trains needing to cross over into the main station platforms...

Also, I updated the network map in my previous post, anyone who can spot the differences wins a biscuit. ;)

Most of the industries connected to "heavy" rail infrastructure have been bumped up to the max of 2000+ units/month.

More screenies...

Various improvement works have been going on since I last posted. Mostly the usual track tweaks and an extra platform here or there...

Screen 1:
This station has grown greatly in recent years. Initially it was just a station on the circle line, with a tiny metro terminal stuck on and of little significance. Then the airport and dock were added, turning it into a fairly major hub.
Now after revamping the maglev line (which already ran under the airport) a station was built to connect the two.
(Another maglev station was built further down the line too at Little Grundstone).
The Metro from across the river was also extended over a set of new bridges to improve passenger throughput between the station and Overpool East, just off shot.

Screen 2:
A new station! Hadn't properly done one of those for ages now. I had been planning to put one at that spot for quite some time now, so I finally decided to get on and do it. A branch off the maglev line and a dock were built as well. The station does not actually accept or generate anything, but as it is on 6 transport routes, it serves as an interchange point. All passenger trains and ships which pass stop there.

Network map:
Does what it says on the tin.

May I ask which tools you use to create these Network maps?

And very amazing Network.

The network maps are all done with MS Visio, some more specific details are earlier in the thread...

The map size (as with all TTDP maps) is 256x256.
