Very Old Ships

Post by Railwaymodeler »

I remember somewhere seeing old clipper ships in someone's screenshots. It seems with the NewShips graphics, nothing is available till the mid-1920s.

I would like to start playing as early as the late 18th century in OTTD, and it seems funny that even with TTDP starting as early as 1921, there are no ships until half a decade later.

Does anyone know anything of the clipper ship? Was it released?

Anyone working on earlier ships? I would love to test some out!

If someone is, early 19th century canal boats would be wonderful! We got Canals, we got eGRVS, we got early NARS2 equipment. Seems ships are what's missing!

You are probably looking for 2CC Ships set.

Wasn't the clipper a product from Michael Blunk?

That's what I thought too, Hyro, but I have not seen it in the NewShips set.

Unless it is something activated by a parameter? :?

Hmm, in the old days you could check hi page but it's gone, isn't it? I believe the newships.grf was from before the parameter era though.

So basically, there are no very old ships actually available. I could not find a link for the 2cc ships to download.

Yes, I did a forum search on that. Even their webpage shows no download available.

Maybe I can at least draw a few old ships, and hope some kind soul might be able to code them. Or use any drawings I might make to contribute to an old, presumed dead, project...

The Clipper was never released from Michael. It was not included in the NewShips set.

I have the Grf. Do you want me to PM it to you?

Well look closely at the topic. On page 17 there's a download.
Something goes here, hell if I know.

Thanks, Cody. I just downloaded the file. Didn't notice that link!

I appreciate it, and will try this out sometime this afternoon when I have more time.

FISH will include ships going back at least to about 1800, possibly even further.

OpenTTD only, although a collaborator who wants to do a cut down version for TTDPatch would be welcome. We're using a makefile system which makes it quite easy, if you're prepared to learn how.
