Frew additional impressions from my current game.

Shot 1: Traffic jam on the A1, Bremerhaven Harbour towards Meckenheim, between Bremerhaven Harbour and Exit Würzhorst due to heavy traffic.
The first streches of Motorway were built in the 70's around the Bremerhaven Harbour. Nowadays, it is completely overcrowded. The new built tram-link can also be seen, which will soon link Bremerhaven with Kassel via Witterschlick.

Shot 2: Near Cuxhaven, a new Motorway Junction had to be built in a rather difficult topography. The result is this. Autobahnkreuz Waldhorst.

Shot 3: Back to the Bremen Kassel area, where the newly built tram-link Kassel - Witterschlick - Bremen has also opened up some new development areas. This one is called Kassel "Gleisdreieck" as it is surounded by railway tracks. A 10 min frequency tram service links this officepark with the Kassel City Centre and in the other direction with Witterschlick - Bremerhaven or Witterschlick - Bremen, each on a 20 min frequency.

Lovely shots, especially the last one, very impressive! Is that the Hbf just out of the bottom of the shot?

Thanks for all the kind words,

James, what you can see at the bottom of the last shot is actually the entrance to the industrial station of the Witterschlick Factory. The Mainstation is further to the right. See attached shot, it shows it.

Great shots as always. I really like your use of trams as short distance intercity transport. It is an idea I have been playing around with for a while now. My main problem with it is the lack of an individual tram with enough passenger capacity and speed to make it really worth the effort. Which tram set are you using to make this possible?

Used to be, yes. Nowadays, it has grown a lot though, so it is more like wrapping itself around the rails, as you can see in attached shot. And it is growing further. New development areas have been made available to the south east, with a new commuter station, seing a 1/2 hourly service to Kassel Mainstation and to Eichenberg, and of course, Bus and Tram services. Also a small development towards the Nord, along the coast has been zoned and will see a bus service every 20 mins.

Oh wow - I absolutely love your shots with great mix of road vehicles and trains - particularly the RV traffic jams!

Right, time for some new stuff.

I have finally figured out how to create my own hightmaps and have created a scenario for a cargodest game.
The Scenario covers the North-East of Switzerland with the Zürich area in the centre of the map. The aim is to build up the S-Bahn network of the Zürich area.

In the below shot, we see Zürich Mainstation in medium busy times.
Most Train lines are built up and trains are running according to schedule, but some lines have only one train running so far, so timetabling has not yet been done. In addition to the S-Bahn, I'm also simulating the IC/IR trains, of course, including special trains such as the ICE to Hamburg and so on.

A link to the network map of what I'm talking about

More to follow.

It's beautiful, but do you mean the same cargodest that was abandoned years ago and has been displaced by its much more complete and error-free successor by fonso?

But it really is beautiful.

Eehm, Airport? The Airport in the last shot is the default TTD Airport. Maybe in some previous shot, there are Airports from TTRS3.

Yep, that's the one. Still works best for me, to be honest.

Cargodist does seam to have some troubles with handling high traffic and big loads of connection etc. All my Cargodist games get stuck at a point where it would become the most interesting. But the Cargodest works even with huge networks.
And there was a set together with the improved timetable management.

Regards
Paul

Allright, Here we go again.

I found that little application called FRAPS, which captures screen videos. So I thought why not show Zürich HB in action, rather then just a screenie. So here is a short video on youtube: clicky

Nice effort, Not quite as large as Zurich HBf but a fitting representation. Good work. :)
